They say three times a charm, so hopefully it is, as we have officially entered fight week for the WBC junior middleweight title fight live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV, live on pay-per-view.
The champion Sebastian Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) will face Keith Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) in a scheduled 12-round fight on Saturday night. This bout was originally set for March 2024, but Thurman suffered an injury and had to withdraw. It was later scheduled for December of last year, but Fundora delayed the fight due to an injury. Now, just days away, the hope is that, after all the delays, it delivers on expectations. Will it be the “OG” Thurman who becomes the new champion at 154, or will Fundora solidify his status as one of the top young champions in boxing today? We will soon find out.
