Serhii Bohachuk: ‘After I Am Victorious On Dec 21, I Will Consider Future Fights In The New Year’

Los Angeles, CA (December 4, 2024) Super welterweight contender Serhii Bohachuk, (24-2, 23 KOs), looked ‘more than ready’ for battle in front of the Los Angeles boxing media on Tuesday afternoon at the famed Wild Card Boxing Gym.

The 29-year-old Bohachuk, a native of Vinnytsia, Ukraine, now residing in Los Angeles, was joined by his renowned trainer Manny Robles and longtime promoter, Tom Loeffler of 360 Promotions as he prepares for his highly anticipated 12-Round WBC Title Eliminator clash against former world champion Israil Madrimov, (10-1-1, 7 KOs), on Saturday, December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Bohachuk vs. Madrimov is the co-feature to the Undisputed Heavyweight Title Rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury (DAZN-PPV). Bohachuk is currently ranked #2 by the WBC and Madrimov #3 by the WBC.

Serhii Bohachuk

“I’ve read some things about my opponent Israil Madrimov planning a fight with Vergil Oritz on February 22 but I am focused only on December 21 as I have been since I started training camp. People can make announcements about other fights but for me one fight at a time and one victory at a time. After I am victorious on December 21, I will consider future fights in the new year.”

“I know Madrimov very well although we have never sparred before. I have watched many of his fights. I thought he beat Crawford and believe he is one of the best fighters in the division.
I want only tough fights and big fights and fighting him is perfect for me.”

“Staying busy this year and having three fights has been very important for me. My strong performances against Brian Mendoza and Vergil Ortiz have been because of my great training camps with Coach Manny.”

“Training for this fight in Guadalajara, Mexico was great. The high altitude was similar to Big Bear, CA where I have trained before. We had very good sparring and now I finish my training in Los Angeles and leave for Saudi Arabia this weekend.”

Tom Loeffler

“It’s bad karma to announce another fight three weeks before facing Serhii Bohachuk. He has a 90% knockout ratio and is coming off two tremendous performances this year against Vergil Ortiz, who he dropped twice and Brian Mendoza. Serhii is solely focused on Israil Madrimov and being victorious on December 21. This is another big fight for him and as you can see he’s in tremendous shape.”

Manny Robles

“Serhii has worked very hard in this camp as he always does. He’s laser focused on Israil Madrimov on December 21 and we’re looking forward to another great performance.
