Before a record crowd of 21,324, as reported by Turki Alalshikh, Shakur Stevenson delivered a boxing master class and earned a unanimous decision over Teofimo Lopez at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
All three judges scored this one 119-109 for Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) over Lopez (22-2, 13 KOs), who delivered on his word that this fight would be easier than his previous one. After the fight, Stevenson called out Conor Benn, and the two went at it face to face as Stevenson told Eddie Hearn that he wants Benn next, with the same rehydration clause Benn had on Chris Eubank Jr.
The first round went as expected, with both fighters feinting and trying to establish their distance. Stevenson landed sharp counter punches while Lopez landed good right hands when he lunged forward. Stevenson used his jab effectively throughout the round.

Stevenson kept his momentum going in the second round with his right jab, while Lopez struggled to land a punch, especially since Stevenson was far enough away to see everything coming. Stevenson appeared much more comfortable than Lopez throughout the round.
In the third round, Stevenson was already on cruise control behind the right jab as Lopez continued to look frustrated while missing many of his punches. Stevenson kept countering beautifully whenever Lopez dipped down. The fourth and fifth rounds were similar, with Stevenson just locked in. A cut appeared over Lopez’s left eye in the sixth round as Stevenson continued to dominate.
Rounds seven through twelve were all Stevenson, who didn’t run, standing in front of Lopez and delivering a dominant performance.
