One of the biggest fights to hit the Southern California area in recent years is just days away. WBA junior middleweight champion Israil Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) will defend his title against former undisputed welterweight champion Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs). Also on the line will be the vacant interim WBO title, which can turn into a full title if current champion Sebastian Fundora doesn’t fulfill his mandatory.
It was only about five months ago when we last saw the champion Madrimov in action, and coincidentally, it was on a Riyadh Season card headlined by Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou. He made quick work of Magomed Kurbanov as he stopped him in the fifth round of their fight. Now Madrimov has the tough task of facing one of the best fighters in the sport who is moving up in weight to face him.

On the other hand, it’s been slightly over a year since Crawford became the undisputed king by defeating Errol Spence Jr. in the ninth round of their fight. It was built up as the super fight of our era, but when it all played out in the ring, Crawford earned the lopsided stoppage. Now Crawford looks to become a four-division champion with a victory on Saturday night, which won’t be easy against the rugged, undefeated Madrimov.
