Terence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov PPV Price Revealed

There were some concerns about the huge Riyadh Season event headlined by Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov on August 3 at the BOM Stadium in Los Angeles, CA, as there were no press releases on the event, which is under 30 days out. On Monday afternoon, Top Rank announced that ESPN+ PPV would carry the event, and today, DAZN announced they would too. The only question remaining is, what will this event cost the consumer?

DAZN posted on their platform that it will cost you $79.99 for new subscribers and $78.99 for current subscribers. Although ESPN+ doesn’t have it on their schedule, it will likely mirror the $79.99 price tag. PPV.com hasn’t officially announced they will carry the event, but sources confirmed to FightsATW that they will, and the price tag will likely be no different than the other platforms, with the exception of a subscription as PPV.com does not require one to purchase the event.

On paper, this fight card seems to be worth the high PPV price tag as it hosts some highly desirable matchups and a musical performance by Eminem. For quite some time, fans have asked that these high PPV-priced events be filled with competitive matchups to justify paying for them. In this expensive economy, making purchases is paid attention to more and more, which means that if boxing wants to continue putting together PPV events, they must keep in mind the consumer’s wallets and not just their own.

Below is the press release from DAZN with all the details from the August 3 card.

NEW YORK, 10 July 2024 — Pound-for-pound undefeated great Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford will challenge Israil ‘The Dream’ Madrimov for the WBA and WBO interim World Super-Welterweight title on August 3, at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles live and globally on DAZN PPV.

Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs), a US native, will move up yet another weight class to 154 pounds following his successful undisputed welterweight championship which came after he delivered a TKO over Errol Spence Jr. last July. Uzbekistani Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) earned the WBA 154-pound crown in March following a fifth-round TKO over Kurbanov on the undercard of another Riyadh Season blockbuster. With Crawford having won his last eleven fights by stoppage, Madrimov will face a force with which he is yet to have contended.

Having conquered the Super-Lightweight, Lightweight, and now Welterweight divisions, the pound-for-pound Crawford is looking to secure his faultless legacy by claiming belts at a fourth weight.

Crawford and Madrimov will headline a sensational card which features premium clashes from beginning to end.

WBA Super-Lightweight champion Isaac Cruz (26-2-1, 18 KOs) will look to defend his belt in his first world title defence against Jose Valenzuela (13-2, 9 KOs) while Cuban standout David Morrell (10-0, 9 KOs), will look to defend his unbeaten record and make it eight straight by stoppage against former world title challenger Radivoje Kalajdzic (29-2, 21 KOs).

An all-USA clash will provide the drama with former unified heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz Jr. (35-2, 22 KOs) returning after almost two-years to battle Jarrell Miller (26-1-1, 22 KOs). Miller will be looking to reinstate his reputation as a man to be feared since losing his undefeated record in December last year.

Another Heavyweight fight will see Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson, step up against fellow knockout artist Martin Bakole. Kicking off proceedings will be Olympic Lightweight gold medallist, Andy Cruz, who will look to continue his excellent run of form against Mexican Antonio Moran.

Peter Oliver, CEO of Growth Markets at DAZN, said “DAZN are proud to have once again been chosen as the global broadcast partner of Riyadh Season. As the Global Home of Boxing, and with over 150 fights a year, fans know they can expect all the best action on DAZN and we can’t wait to deliver on 3 August.”
