‘The Rock’: ‘If You Smellll, What The Bloodline Is Cooking’

This Road to WrestleMania XL was just taken to another level with last night’s episode of WWE Smackdown. The buildup all week was that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson would be in attendance with Roman Reigns and the rest of The Bloodline, which led to a sold-out crowd in Salt Lake City, Utah. The reason behind the visit would be to address the comments made by Cody Rhodes on WWE Raw and the influence the WWE Universe had on changing the Wrestlemania main event from The Rock vs Roman Reigns to now Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns.

Reigns and The Bloodline came out about 15 minutes before the show’s end. Reigns was oozing with confidence as always, but this moment felt like he had an extra pep in his step as he addressed the crowd briefly and ended with the fact that The Rock was now part of The Bloodline. He paused for a minute, and that’s when The Rock’s music hit, and out came ‘The Brahma Bull.’

To everyone’s surprise, The Rock came out in an attire that mimicked his iconic heel character from the 90s. He had the shades on while wearing a Versace vest versus the Versace shirt, and it was unbuttoned with no shirt underneath, which was how he mostly wore it at the height of his heel character. Once everyone saw this, they knew what they were about to get from The Rock, and it wasn’t going to be a big cheesy smile or appreciation for the WWE Universe.

The Rock took the mic into his hand; the rest was history. The full-blown heel version of The Rock was amongst us. The Rock heard the boos and then said, “Oh, you want to boo that huh. Are you sure you want to boo The Rock? Finalllllly, your life has meaning. Finally, you and your 50 wives will have a story to tell, and you know what I’m talking about. You’ll have a story to tell. Your 600 inbred grandchildren one day, and that is what it looks like to look at greatness in the flesh because finally, The Rock has come back to Salt Lake City.”

The place went nuts, and The Rock now had the crowd in his hands while Roman Reigns had a smirk on his face, Solo had no expression, and Jimmy Uso couldn’t stop laughing. The Rock would then blame the WWE Universe for ruining the potential of a main event between him and Reigns while mocking the trending hashtags “We want Cody” and “Finish The Story.”

The Rock would continue his insults and end the segment with one of the most powerful lines of the year. “Can you smellll what The Bloodline is cookin?” sent social media into a blaze as it officially marked the beginning of the new Bloodline. It was a massive statement as things started to build up even more against Cody Rhodes.

The layers of this storyline are getting thicker, and it’s been a helluva of a ride so far as they are just getting started. One thing to note is that coincidentally, on Saturday morning, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin posted a rattlesnake promo video package highlighting some of his best moments. Does this mean Austin will be injected into this already heavily layered storyline? Something to keep an eye on. For now, fans will be highly anticipating RAW on Monday.
