The Rock Posts Heated Promo Ahead of Tonight’s Smackdown

The Rock is in such a groove, being a heel for his storyline with Cody Rhodes, that WrestleMania XL is trending towards being the biggest event of all time. Earlier today, The Rock posted a video on his social media accounts with the following caption:

A message from the hottest heel pro wrestling has seen since the 80’s. Mama Rhodes, you’re now in the Rock’s crosshairs. Your son’s blood will be on the Rock’s belt, that I will personally deliver to you at WrestleMania. I’m gonna put a whuppin’ on that boy, in front of his mama – so don’t you go crying in front of the world when I do. ~ People’s Champ. #FinalBoss

The caption was a preview of what was to come with the video. The Rock starts by talking about how professional wrestling “is cool” and “relevant” because of him. He then gets into selling out Dallas, TX, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Glendale, AZ. Then he mentions jumping on his jet to fly home to Memphis, TN.

The Rock quickly transitioned into last week’s Smackdown when Cody Rhodes slapped The Rock in a video that has since gone viral on social media. He called it “the slap heard around the world.” Playing to his famous line, The Rock said, “Finally, Cody Rhodes grew some balls.”

After playing on that and showing the video where Cody slapped The Rock, he quickly transitioned to Monday Night Raw, where Cody gave an emotional promo in which he held back his tears when discussing his mother. Right after The Rock played the video clip, he said, “Are you f&cking kidding me? You start crying? That’s how you respond? No wonder your fans are crybabies; Cody Crybabies.”

The Rock then goes after Cody Rhodes’ mother and says he will give her his weight belt with Cody’s blood on it instead of Cody giving her the undisputed heavyweight title. Before giving his signature outro, The Rock says, “Off is the direction you (Cody’s fans) can go f*ck”.

The layers to this storyline are getting thicker by the week. Smackdown tonight in Memphis will be highly anticipated, as it has been since the WrestleMania XL kickoff in Las Vegas last month.
