‘The Rock’ Returns to WWE Raw Day One

Social Media was buzzing the last few days when Triple H posted a message on X saying that he could not confirm or deny that a former WWE champion would appear on Raw Day One. The time had arrived, and with everyone highly anticipating the superstar that would appear, to everyone’s surprise, Jinder Mahal came out.

His appearance sucked the life out of the San Diego Arena as he is a former WWE champion but not the one people would have preferred to see. Mahal went to the ring and cut a promo that fell flat, and the crowd wasn’t reacting too much. After a few minutes, the Rock’s music came on, and the arena went bezerk.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson came out from behind the curtain, and it was pandemonium. The Rock then went into the ring and grabbed a microphone. The Rock would go back and forth with Mahal with insults, a version of the national anthem that insulted Mahal, and potential hashtag one-liners. After a while, Mahal had enough and attacked The Rock. Mahal got the best of him for a couple of minutes before The Rock reversed the momentum and did his slam, which was followed by the people’s elbow.

Afterward, The Rock told the crowd he was hungry and would go to San Diego to eat. He then asked if he should sit in a booth, at the bar, or at the head of the table. The crowd went wild for the last part as it implied he was talking about his cousin Roman Reigns, the Tribal Chief and the Head of the Table. Then he ended it by saying he thought so.

There were real discussions about making The Rock vs. Reigns for the last WrestleMania, but things changed at the last minute, and it didn’t work out. It looks like we are getting that this year at some point, which could be in April at WrestleMania 40.
