The Terence Crawford vs Ryan Garcia Drama Spills ‘Out of the Ring’

Post his recent showdown, Ryan Garcia’s (26-2, 21 KOs) beef with Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) seems to have picked up some newfound steam. And with what went down on X recently, neither of them seems to be backing down.

Being his usual incendiary self, Crawford took to X to accuse Garcia of apparently trying to be tough only for social media.

“He’s know it’s all for show. I promise if I seen him without his security guards and the cameras he’ll be a complete different person,” he wrote.

The tension between Crawford and Garcia really began as a slow-burn rivalry rather than one explosive incident. Crawford, who has long been close with Shakur Stevenson, publicly backed Stevenson in a potential fight with him, saying he believed Shakur would “wipe the floor” with him. The latter took exception to Crawford repeatedly weighing in on his career and, by March 2026, was openly questioning his résumé, arguing that Crawford had not fought enough young, hungry elite fighters and pointing specifically to Errol Spence Jr. and Canelo Alvarez as opponents he considered past their prime.

That criticism became more personal during the buildup to Garcia‘s recent fight with Conor Benn. Crawford publicly backed Benn and even warned him that he could be knocked out if he did not take the fight seriously. Garcia, in turn, began repeatedly mentioning Crawford in interviews and questioning why he had retired, eventually telling Ariel Helwani that Crawford was effectively “retired on paper but not in his heart” and that he needed to return to boxing because people no longer knew who he was. Moreover, Garcia also accused him of being jealous.

With Crawford’s post picking up steam, Garcia wasn’t one to back down.

He also took to X, telling Crawford to “square up bro on or off the ring”.

However, the latter, who had expected the response, wrote nonchalantly, “When u ready im retired so we gotta do it out of the ring.”

“Calling The Law on Me”

Crawford, on the other hand, is certain about how the fight would go if the two were to face each other. In his own words, people might end up calling law enforcement on him.

“I’ll f*ck @RyanGarcia up so bad people going to be calling the law on me talking about child abuse. Like why did you do that to that little boy,” he said.
