Things Get Heated Between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr.

Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs) almost had a new opponent for his fight on October 12.

The son of former two-division world champion boxer, Eubank is gearing up to face Polish boxer Kamil Szeremeta (25-2-2, 8 KOs) in the undercard of Dmitry Bivol (23-0, 12 KOs) vs. Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs) at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. While the fight promotions have been largely devoid of drama, trouble came looking for Eubank in the form of Conor Benn (23-0, 14 KOs), and things certainly got heated.

The duo was set to fight each other in October 2022. However, the fight had to be postponed due to Benn’s drug test fiasco. Even though both have constantly spoken about making the fight happen, nothing substantial has happened in that direction since.

Benn was recently talking to reporters along with Eddie Hearn. This was when Eubank also entered the same hotel lobby. ‘The Destroyer’ was quick to notice him, and being the king of instigation (as usual), he wasted no time calling him out. “Oye, Chris. Don’t f*ck up the bag, son. Don’t f*ck up the bag,” he called out. “You’re lucky you’re fighting tomorrow, or I’d f*ck you up right now.”

Eubank, who looked visibly burned out while preparing for the fight, responded that he liked Benn’s energy and even mentioned that Benn was challenging him when he was cutting weight for the fight. While Benn tried to interject the previous statements, Eubank continued to grin while telling him to watch himself and even proceeded to call him “a prick.” This undoubtedly ticked Benn off. He proceeded to shove Eubank sending tempers flaring. However, the duo was quickly separated by security before ended up exchanging blows.

“Watch what happens. Dead boy walking, yeah. Dead boy walking, yeah. You’re lucky you’re fighting tomorrow, and I need you to win,” Benn shouted, continuing his volley of insults. “I’m going to give you a good a*** beating in front of 60,000. That’s what is going to happen. I’ll be here tomorrow. I’ll see you tomorrow night then you arrogant prick.”

“This Little Weasel”

Eubank took to X following the altercation, calling Benn out for his actions.

Not mincing words, he mentioned that the “little weasel” Benn only had the courage to pull up on him because he was dehydrated to make weight for the fight. On the other hand, Benn responded by saying, “Don’t lose to this nugget on Saturday, satsuma head. And I suggest you scrub your teeth because your breath smelt like a mountain of sh*t. Three rounds, I’m flattening you!!” It sure looks like Hearn got the much-needed drama for driving the PPVs for the fight card.
