Tim Bradley Feels ‘Sorry’ for Lamont Roach After Gervonta Davis’ Makeover

The new version of Gervonta Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) might be trouble for Lamont Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs).

On September 30, the WBA granted Roach special permission to move up a weight class and challenge Davis for his WBA lightweight title on December 14, 2024. However, the fight was later postponed, taking place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on March 1, 2025. With the fight date inching closer, a leaked picture showed Davis with a rather intriguing makeover has started doing the rounds. And it looks like this “zesty” version of ‘Tank’ has gotten Tim Bradley worried for Roach’s safety.

Talking on X, Bradley opened up about Davis’ makeover and what it means to his future opponents.

“Him having that picture leaked and him looking real zesty and not giving a f*ck. I’m trying to tell y’all. My man is on a new level,” he said. “‘We on a new level. I’m on a new level.’ Yes, my dude is on a new level because he knows who he is. There’s a power of knowing who you is. Most people don’t know who the hell they are. They think they are, but they really don’t know who they are.”

Bradley further mentioned that Davis has figured out that humans are constantly evolving. And that he has the superpower of “not giving a damn.” Moreover, he added that he feels sorry for Roach ahead of the fight. “I feel sorry for Roach. He’s a good fighter, but I’m telling you. This Tank right here is different. It’s a different dude. Did y’all see the weight, too? The dude [Davis] can fight tomorrow. The dude can fight today. The dude can fight whenever,” he said. “It’s a few weeks away. It’s a few months away from the fight. I’m telling y’all locked in.”

“People Are Sleeping On Lamont”

While many are worried about Roach’s well-being ahead of the fight, he certainly has his host of fierce supporters. In fact, Shakur Stevenson has warned people not to undermine Roach’s skills.

“I think a lot of people are sleeping on Lamont. I think Lamont is gonna come out there and show the world who he is,”he said in an interview with DAZN. “I think it’s gonna be an amazing fight. I’m excited for what’s next.”
