TNA Wrestling kicked off 2026 with their first PPV of the year titled “Genesis 2026,” streaming live from the Curtis Culwell Center in Dallas, TX. Riding the wave of their debut on AMC just two days earlier, TNA aimed to deliver another high-quality PPV to set the tone for the rest of the year.
AJ Francis vs. Rich Swann
Opening the PPV card, AJ Francis wasted no time and began to beat up on Rich Swann as soon as he got into the ring. The match quickly moved outside as Francis slammed Swann onto the mat. Once thrown back in the ring by Francis, Swann quickly reversed the momentum in his favor. That was short-lived as Francis used brute force to catch Swann coming off the top ropes and tossed him across the ring.
After some back-and-forth action, Francis attempted a superplex, but Swann managed to reverse it and bring the big man down to the mat. Later, Francis mocked AJ Styles by doing a “Styles Clash” on Swann. Somehow, Swann executed a Dallas destroyer on Francis but couldn’t pin him. Francis quickly recovered, first hitting a reverse “down payment” and then a proper “down payment.” It was too much for Swann to recover from as Francis secured the 1-2-3 pin and victory.
Winner: AJ Francis
Elijah vs. Mustafa Ali
Elijah almost didn’t make it to the ring as Order 4 attacked him before the match even started. He was able to fend them off and grab Mustafa Ali. The match finally got underway, but the numbers game was already in Ali’s favor, as Elijah couldn’t take on everyone.
Ali took control of the match and slowly grinded away on Elijah with an arm bar. Ali managed to intercept a running Elijah with a reverse neck breaker, and then they exchanged blows in the center of the ring. There was a sequence where Ali hit a super kick, but Elijah responded with a running clothesline. Elijah then executed a high knee, which slowed the pace of the match.
Elijah would hit the “Highway’s man to hell” on Ali, but he would kick out, which surprised Elijah. When Elijah covered Ali, Special Agent Zero pulled the referee away. After the referee disqualified Order 4 and Special Agent Zero, Tasha Steelz entered the ring to hit Elijah with the guitar, but he managed to take it from her. When Elijah went for his finisher on Steelz, Ali broke the guitar on Elijah’s back. The referee returned to the ring with Ali covering Elijah, which led to Ali getting the pinfall.
Winner: Mustafa Ali
JDC vs. Eddie Edwards
It was JDC’s final match, so there was a lot of emotion in the arena as he and Eddie Edwards locked up to start the match. The match wasn’t high octane but rather your traditional wrestling style. Vicious chops were exchanged to the crowd’s delight, and both wrestlers had their moments early on.
Edwards threw JDC to the outside to slow things down. JDC managed to get his second wind and slammed Edwards on the apron. While still on the outside, they exchanged chops to the chest, with each one growing louder and louder.
Later in the match, Edwards hit back-to-back “Boston knee party” finishers, with the last one earning him the victory. After the match, JDC got a nice ovation from the crowd and the wrestlers who clapped for him at the entrance of the aisle.
Winner: Eddie Edwards
Ryan Nemeth vs. Mara Sade
Ryan Nemeth was shoving Mara Sade’s face in a disrespectful way to begin the match. Sade tried to get the upper hand, but each time Nemeth was able to power his way out of it. Sade would later hit a Tornado DDT, but when she covered him, Nemeth quickly popped out. After blocking Sade from a move on the top ropes, Nemeth quickly covered Sade with a hand full of jeans and his left arm on the rope to get the heel pin without the referee noticing.
Winner: Ryan Nemeth
TNA Knockouts Championship: Lei Ying Lee (c) vs. Zaria
Right from the start, Zaria wasn’t shy about showing off her power, such as catching Lei Ying Lee coming off the top ropes and turning it into a slam. Lee would then use her advantage of being the smaller, quicker wrestler to execute short drop kicks, throwing Zaria off her game.
Lee hung in tough, executed an exploder, and covered Zaria, but she kicked out of it. Lee then put the sleeper hold on Zaria, but the NXT star reversed the hold with a cannonball-like move into the turnbuckle. Zaria executed a spear followed by her finisher, but the referee was knocked out. The Elegance Brand tried to interfere, but they were quickly taken out by Sol Ruca and Brookside. The action then picked back up as Lee and Zaria exchanged punches.
Lee was finally able to hit the “warrior’s way” finisher and pin Zaria, which allowed her to retain the TNA Knockouts World Championship. After the match, Elyana Black showed up to tell Lee that she has next for her title.
Winner: Lei Ying Lee
TNA Tag Championship: The Hardys (c) vs. The Righteous
The entrance music hadn’t finished before The Hardyz attacked The Righteous. The crowd was hot for the Hardyz beasting on The Righteous before the bell rang to start the match. The Hardyz, through smart tagging, began to wear down Vincent and kept him from tagging his partner Dutch. After executing a “twist of fate,” Matt performed a side effect that got a great reaction from the crowd.
Once Dutch was finally tagged, he took control of the match and made it clear that his size would be the deciding factor. When Vincent re-entered the match, it was much different than earlier, and he was yelling at Matt, “Why are you making me do this?” Dutch was quickly tagged in and clotheslined Matt, who was taking serious punishment at this point in the match.
Once Jeff received the hot tag, he completely turned the match around by clearing the ring with his offense. The Righteous were able to distract the referee to get their illegal tags in. Dutch grabbed the mic and said, “This is what we wanted.” Matt obliged and executed a “twist of fate,” and Jeff performed his “Swanton bomb,” leading to a 1-2-3 pinfall victory for the Hardyz, who retain their titles.
Winner: The Hardyz
Joe Hendry vs. Moose vs. Cedric Alexander
It was no surprise that Joe Hendry had all the momentum right from the start. It was the Hendry show as he executed his power moves on Moose and Cedric Alexander. However, Moose stepped up next and showed why he has all the talent to be special. Hendry flipped Moose onto his back, and Moose landed on the steel steps, remaining down for a while. TNA President Carlos Silva and the TNA physician came out to check on Moose, given his history of back issues.
The match in the ring continued as Hendry and Alexander go at it while Moose is being attended to outside. Moose makes his way back into the match and receives one of the loudest ovations of the night. Hendry and Alexander attack Moose as soon as he reenters, showing how serious they are about winning. Hendry later executes a “pop up power bomb” on Moose but cannot get the pin. Alexander comes out of nowhere and puts a cross-face submission on Hendry.
The “This is awesome” chants started throughout the arena as all three men gave it their all. Then, out of nowhere, Hendry hits the “standing ovation” on Alexander and pins him to secure the victory in what was a highly entertaining triple threat match.
Winner: Joe Hendry
TNA World Title-Texas Death Match w/ special guest referee Nic Nemeth: Mike Santana vs. Frankie Kazarian
Mike Santana and Frankie Kazarian exchanged blows in the center of the ring to kick off the main event of TNA Genesis. Kazarian seemed to be outsmarting Santana early on by executing some power moves. Blood immediately appeared on Kazarian’s ear, and he grabbed a chair to hit Santana with but missed. Nic Nemeth was neutral early on, but all eyes were on him to see if that would last.
Santana grabbed a table from underneath the ring and slid it onto the canvas. Santana did a body drop on Kazarian outside and covered him but did not get the three count. The fight then went deep into the crowd as Santana dictated the pace. The match headed to the back of the arena as Kazarian then slammed Santana into the garage door and followed up by throwing a garbage can at his back. The match made its way back to ringside. Santana executed a piledriver on two steel chairs, but Kazarian was able to get up before the 10 count.
Kazarian somehow managed to execute a cutter on the table set up outside. Although Santana was knocked out, he managed to beat the ten-count. Kazarian threw Santana into the steel steps once he beat the count. Kazarian set up the table inside the ring along with a ladder. Suddenly, Santana entered the ring with a barbed wire baseball bat. He missed his first shot at Kazarian but then hit him in the stomach and then grinded it on Kazarian’s forehead.
Santana then put Kazarian on the table and climbed up the ladder. Santana executed a frog splash, and when he covered Kazarian, he popped out. Santana began to complain to Nemeth about his counting. Santana then hit the “Spin the block” with his arm wrapped in barbed wire. He pinned him, and when he tried to get up and beat the ten-count, he couldn’t. Santana gets the victory over Kazarian in the main event of Genesis.
Nemeth executed a “danger zone” and went to call for his title shot. Just as the referee was making his way to the ring, Santana hit “Spin the block” on Nemeth, causing the cash-in not to occur.
Winner: Mike Santana
