TNA iMPACT 2/27 Recap: Oba Femi & Moose Wreak Havoc, TNA Sacrifice Matches Announced

Another episode of TNA iMPACT emanated from Full Sail University. NXT Champion Oba Femi made his in-ring TNA debut teaming with The Hardys to take on Moose, Brian Myers, and Eddie Edwards of The System.

The System Adds New Members

All members of The System were out to address their six-man tag team match at the start of TNA iMPACT. Moose was greeted by “Oba’s gonna kill you” chants. Moose said he shook Femi’s world up when he entered his playground. He vowed to show Femi that there’s a difference between being the “Ruler” of NXT and being the “Face of the Franchise.”

Moose said he’s bothered by the fact that Jeff Hardy has pinned him twice in tag team action. He said Jeff isn’t who he used to be. Myers then grabbed the mic and said he was intrigued by Eddie and Orlando Colon possibly joining The System. The Colons made their way out. Eddie said he has respect for The System. Orlando said The Colons would like to fight with The System, not against them. Moose was quite happy with the alliance.

Spitfire Talks Rematch With Heather and Ash by Elegance

Gia Miller Interviewed Spitfire backstage. The team said they had to fight for what they earned in TNA, while Heather and Ash by Elegance, expect things to be handed to them. The team pondered what they would have Heather and Ash do as their personal concierges.

Leon Slater and The Hardys Argue With The System

Backstage, The System ran into Leon Slater and The Hardys. Things got heated between the two sides before TNA security intervened.

Mike Santana vs. Oro Mensah

Oro Mensah of WWE NXT’s The Meta-Four entered the TNA iMPACT Zone to meet Mike Santana. Mensah chopped Santana numerous times, but the Puerto Rican star fired back with a combination. Mensah landed a Hurricanrana.

The former NXT UK Tag Team Champion connected with a springboard sidekick. He went for a Plancha, but Santana caught him and drove him onto the ring apron. Santana followed up with a big boot. Santana hit the Rolling Buck Fifty in the ring, but Mensah kicked out. Santana went high-risk, but Mensah cut him off with a backflip kick. He then landed Call of Autumn for a near fall. Santana caught Mensah in a Buckle Bomb, followed by Spin The Block for the win.

Winner: Mike Santana

After the match, a video package of Mustafa Ali and his cabinet aired. The video poked fun at Santana’s past alcoholism.

Mike Santana Confronts Mustafa Ali’s Group

Santana stormed the backstage area looking for Mustafa Ali. Instead, he ran into The Good Hands and Tasha Steelz. Santana told the group to tell Ali they could settle their beef in the ring.

Tessa Blanchard vs. Kelsey Heather

Blanchard hit a forearm in the corner. She then slapped Heather in the face. Heather got in a pin combination before Blanchard nailed her with a Cutter. She then connected with The Buzzsaw for the win.

Winner: Tessa Blanchard

Cora Jade Attacks Masha Slamovich

TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich was watching Tessa Blanchard’s match backstage. She was attacked from behind by Cora Jade.

Does Joe Hendry Trust Elijah?

Joe Hendry and Elijah discussed their successful tag team match last week. Hendry told Elijah that he didn’t exactly trust him. Elijah insisted that Hendry had nothing to worry about. The System then interrupted, reminding both men that they run the show.

Steve Maclin vs. KC Navarro w/AJ Francis

Maclin got in a series of clubbing blows to the back of Navarro in the corner. Maclin was distracted by AJ Francisoutside the ring. This allowed Navarro to capitalize. With the referee distracted, Francis sent Maclin crashing onto the ring apron before nailing him with a forearm.

Eric Young and The Northern Armory made their way out to observe the match. Maclin got in some stiff clotheslines. Navarro regained momentum and landed a Frog Splash. Maclin turned the tide again, landing K.I.A. for the win.

Winner: Steve Maclin

Tessa Blanchard vs. Lei Ying Lee Booked For TNA Sacrifice

Backstage, Blanchard took issue with Lei Ying Lee staring at her. The two had a heated exchange before Santino Marella intervened. He then booked Blanchard vs. Lee for TNA Sacrifice.

TNA Knockouts Championship Match: Spitfire (c) vs. Heather and Ash by Elegance

The power advantage of Dani Luna over Ash was clear. She landed two German Suplexes before Heather pulled the arms of Luna to prevent a third. Heather and Ash hit a double-team Frog Splash on Luna, but Jodi Threat broke up the pin. Luna landed a Super German Suplex on Heather before her and Threat hit Pressure Drop for the pin.

Heather and Ash by Elegance Carry Spitfire’s Gear

Backstage, Heather and Ash by Elegance, were forced to serve as Spitfire’s personal concierges given the stipulation of the match. George Iceman tried to carry Spitfire’s gear instead, but Santino Marella reminded him that he didn’t lose the match.

Sami Callihan vs. Mance Warner Ends in DQ

Callihan immediately hit a Stunner on Warner but didn’t care about the match. He took a chair to the midsection of Warner, causing a DQ. The two brawled before TNA security ran down. Santino Marella made his way out and booked a street fight between Callihan and Warner for the TNA Sacrifice event.

Frankie Kazarian vs. Ace Austin

Wes Lee, Tyriek Igwe, and Tyson Dupont made their way down before the match. Lee served as a special guest commentator. Austin landed a series of strikes in the corner before scoring a springboard spin kick. Austin was looking for a dive to the outside, but Kazarian rolled near Igwe and Dupont.

Austin kicked Kazarian before staring down Lee. Igwe and Dupont distracted Austin. Lee pretended to interfere as Austin was going for a Plancha in the ring. This allowed Kazarian to hit a Cutter for the win.

Winner: Frankie Kazaria

After the match, Lee, Igwe, and Dupont attacked Austin. The Rascalz ran down with steel chairs to clear the ring.

Ash and Heather by Elegance Service Spitfire

More torture for Ash and Heather by Elegance, as Ash was forced to walk a dog. Heather had to carry Spitfire’s bags. The pair then had to drive Spitfire with their dog inside.

Ryan Nemeth Reminds Us of Nic Nemeth’s Return

Ryan Nemeth made his way out to remind TNA fans that Nic Nemeth’s suspension is over in 15 days. Did you know they are brothers?

Oba Femi and The Hardys vs. The System

Oba Femi and Moose were going to start the match, but Moose quickly tagged in Eddie Edwards. Both Edwards and Myers tried to double-team Femi, but they ate a clothesline for their efforts. The Hardys then sent Myers and Edwards over the top rope.

The Hardys hit Poetry in Motion on Myers. Alisha Edwards distracted the referee, allowing Moose to pull Jeff’s hair and slam him down. Jeff and Moose were the legal men and Jeff was favoring his left knee.

Alisha attacked Jeff when the referee was distracted. Jeff hit Twist of Fate on Moose, and he tagged Matt in. Matt slammed Moose’s head on all three turnbuckles in a corner. Moose countered Twist of Fate but ran into a Side Effect. Edwards broke up the pin, but he was caught and slammed down on the apron by Femi before Myers sent the NXT Champion into the ring steps.

The Hardys landed a double team Twist of Fate, but Myers broke up the pin and inadvertently took out the referee. Femi and Moose had an exchange in the ring, and the NXT Champion took out the TNA X Division Champion. The Colons interfered, allowing Myers to hit Matt with a ring on his finger. Moose hit a Spear on Matt for the win.

Winners: The System

The System looked to attack Matt after the match, but Joe Hendry and Elijah scared them off. Santino Marella announced that Jeff Hardy will face Moose in a ladder match for the X Division Championship at TNA Sacrifice. He also announced a 10-man tag team match with Joe Hendry, Matt Hardy, and partners of their choosing against The Colons and The System.
