TNA iMPACT 3/20 Recap: Huge WWE NXT Surprises, Joe Hendry in Action

Following the shocking conclusion of TNA Sacrifice, TNA iMPACT emanated from El Paso County Coliseum. Nic and Ryan Nemeth addressed their brutal attack on Matt Hardy at the conclusion of TNA’s most recent pay-per-view event. Plus, TNA World Champion Joe Hendry teamed with Elijah to take on Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers of The System.

Masha Slamovich Attacked by WWE NXT Star

Masha Slamovich got the show started. She showed respect to Cora Jade for stepping up at TNA Sacrifice, but it wasn’t enough. Slamovich said she’s been on a mission to prove she’s the best champion in all of wrestling. Before Slamovich could reveal her plans for TNA Rebellion, she was interrupted by Tessa Blanchard. She claimed she could’ve beaten Jade with her eyes closed. Blanchard said she wants to take the Knockouts Championship from Slamovich.

Jacy Jayne of NXT attacked Slamovich from behind in the ring. Santino Marrella made his way out and booked Slamovich vs. Jayne for next week’s episode of “TNA iMPACT.” Marella said Blanchard is banned from ringside for that match.

Santino Marella Not Happy With Surprise Attack

Marella questioned his daughter Arianna Grace about Jayne’s appearance. Grace insisted she had no idea Jayne was going to attack Slamovich. Another surprise is planned for the show.

The Rascalz vs. The Northern Armory

Eric Young was a guest commentator for the match. Zachary Wentz hit a springboard crossbody on Judas Icarus. Travis Williams hit Wentz with a chop block when the referee was distracted. Wentz hit an enzuigiri on Williams and tagged in Trey Miguel.

Miguel knocked Icarus off the apron. He tagged Wentz back in, and the two looked for a double-team combo on Williams, who faked being hit with a low blow. Miguel took out Icarus outside the ring and hit a cutter on Williams on the middle rope. The Rascalz landed Feed Them to the Wolves for the win.

She told Brookside to meet her in the ring later tonight for a surprise.

The Aztec Warriors made their way out to back Guerrero up. Guerrero made a challenge for a six-man tag team match next week.

Nic claimed Slater wouldn’t have a job if it weren’t for him. Ryan said Nic would do the same thing to Slater that he did to Matt Hardy at TNA Sacrifice. Ryan charged at Slater but was knocked down. The numbers game caught up to Slater, who ate a superkick from Ryan.

Xia Brookside and Lei Ying Lee vs. Rosemary and Savannah Evans

Rosemary tagged in Savannah Evans rather than starting the match with Brookside. Rosemary only entered when Evans drove Brookside into the corner. Rosemary was caught in a hurricanrana, followed by Broken Wings and a DDT. Lei Ying Lee and Evans were tagged in. Evans hit a sitout choke bomb for a near fall. Joe Hendry and Elijah vs. Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers w/Alisha Edwards

Joe Hendry wasted little time popping Brian Myers in the mouth with a right hand. Elijah was tagged in and sent Eddie Edwards out of the ring. Hendry then clotheslined Myers over the top rope. Alisha distracted Elijah, allowing Edwards to hit a baseball slide dropkick. Elijah was then sent crashing into the ring steps. Alisha yanked Elijah’s beard and slapped him when the referee wasn’t paying attention.

Elijah hit a modified neckbreaker on Edwards and tagged in Hendry. Myers went for a crossbody off the top turnbuckle, but Hendry caught him and hit the fallaway slam. Hendry went for the Standing Ovation, but Edwards knocked Elijah off the ring apron to distract the TNA World Champion.
