TNA iMPACT 7/17 Recap: TNA Slammiversary 2025 ‘Go-Home’ Show

The go-home episode of “TNA iMPACT!” wrapped up on Thursday, just three nights before “Slammiversary 2025.” A tag team match featuring TNA World Champion Trick Williams, Joe Hendry, and Mike Santana took place before their triple-threat title match at UBS Arena.

Moose w/ Alisha Edwards vs. Sami Callihan

Moose shoved Callihan into the corner. He charged in but ran into the turnbuckle. Callihan took advantage with a Stunner for a near fall. Moose confused Callihan with a misdirection, which allowed him to land a spear. Callihan rolled to the outside, and Moose looked for another spear. Instead, he ran into a scoop slam.

Callihan went for the Cactus Driver ‘97, but Moose countered with a spear for the win.

Winner: Moose

After the match, Edwards grabbed a mic and asked the crowd if they wanted to know something before she handed the mic over to Moose. The TNA X Division Champion said “Slammiversary” will be just another Sunday for him. He vowed to defeat Leon Slater and move on to become the longest-reigning TNA X Division Champion of all time.

Moose then questioned why Callihan was still in the ring. He then claimed Callihan is over the hill. He called Callihan a “fat piece of garbage.” Moose said Callihan should be preparing catering instead of wrestling. Moose told Callihan to take his boots off, leave them at the center of the ring, and walk off. Callihan left the ring, and Moose introduced The System.

The System vs. Order Four Never Happened

Before the match could begin, “NXT’s” Darkstate entered the ring and attacked The System. They took out Brian Myers with a pop-up sitout powerbomb. The planned tag team match was called off.

Dani Luna is Ready for Tessa Blanchard

Dani Luna was interviewed by Gia Miller ahead of her match with Tessa Blanchard. Luna said singles action is now her specialty. Luna said she has everything it takes to become a top Knockout, and Blanchard is simply in her way.

Tessa Blanchard w/Victoria Crawford vs. Dani Luna

Luna landed an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, followed by a sliding forearm. Luna then connected with a basement dropkick. Luna went high-risk, but Blanchard knocked her back down to the mat.

Blanchard secured a guillotine choke. Luna eventually powered out to deliver a suplex. Blanchard was able to avoid the Luna Landing. Luna landed a powerbomb for a two-count. Blanchard landed a Codebreaker in the corner for a near fall. Blanchard went for Magnum, but Luna caught her and landed the Blue Thunder Bomb for a two-count. Crawford attempted to interfere, which created a distraction. This allowed Blanchard to hit Magnum for the win.

Winner: Tessa Blanchard

Blanchard and Crawford attacked Luna after the match. Indi Hartwell chased off Blanchard and Crawford to end the assault. Hartwell grabbed a mic and said Blanchard has turned on every friend she’s ever had. She said Blanchard hasn’t known her for six years, but she’ll get to know her very well at “Slammiversary.”

The IInspiration Eye Tag Team Gold

The IInspiration had a warning for The Elegance Brand ahead of their title match at “Slammiversary.” Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee said they will become two-time TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions.

Masha Slamovich and Jacy Jayne Exchange Final Words

The Elegance Brand marched down to the ring. Ash by Elegance blamed fans for releasing “edited” footage of her disrupting The IInspiration’s autograph signing. Ash reminded fans that she has a No. 1 contender match for the TNA Knockouts World Championship after “Slammiversary.”

Ash was interrupted by Jacy Jayne and the rest of Fatal Influence. Jayne said Fatal Influence had no beef with The Elegance Brand before she ran her mouth. Jayne said once she defeats Masha Slamovich, she’ll remind Ash exactly where she stands.

Slamovich’s music hit, and the Elegance Brand decided to leave the ring. Slamovich said Jayne looks at herself in the mirror and thinks that’s what a champion represents. Slamovich said Jaybe won’t take the TNA Knockouts Championship from her unless her heart stops beating. The two raised their titles high to end the segment.

From Partners to Foes?

Jodi Threat asked Dani Luna if she was doing well. Luna questioned why Threat took a long time to check on her. Luna said she was fine before Indi Hartwell essentially sent Threat away.

Mike Santana Does His Father Proud

A voice clip of Mike Santana’s late father played during a vignette. Santana’s father was talking about how proud he was of his son.

Icarus went for Sliced Bread, but Icarus raked the eyes. The Hometown Man hit Williams with a suicide dive. He then landed Sliced Bread for the victory. Eric Young stormed the ring, but The Hometown Man exited through the crowd.

Winner: The Hometown Man

Another Threat From Real1

Another Fourth Rope segment featuring Real1, formerly known as Enzo Amore, aired. Real1 claimed he would eat up Joe Hendry and spit him out. He said on July 20 that he will show up at “Slammiversary” and won’t be alone. He said perhaps he’ll bring Zilla Fatu and Joshua Bishop with him.

Steve Maclin Wants New Challenge at ‘Slammiversary’

Steve Maclin was backstage and said he’s looking for an international talent to cross the line. He said whoever dares accept his challenge will be another victim of “tag’em and bag‘em.”

The System Saves Matt Cardona

Matt Cardona grabbed a mic before his match against Jake Painter. He called out the Darkstate faction and said he’s already ready. As soon as the two tied up, Darkstate appeared. The “NXT” group attacked both Cardona and Painter, who was driven with their signature powerbomb.

Darkstate then targeted Cardona before Brian Myers made his way out to get revenge. The numbers game was too much before Eddie Edwards and JDC attacked Darkstate with a kendo stick and a chair.

The End of The Hardys

The Hardys were out to address their tag team title match at “Slammiversary.” The fans chanted, “Thank you, Hardys.” Matt Hardy said fans have allowed him and Jeff to perform for the past four decades. Matt said both he and Jeff would never be a shell of the team they once were.

Matt said The Hardys don’t want to overstay their welcome. He said The Hardys have lost quite a few matches since losing the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

Jeff then revealed that if The Hardys aren’t victorious at “Slammiversary,” then it might be time for the Hardy party to end. Leon Slater couldn’t stand what he was hearing and made his way to the ring. Slater told The Hardys that they changed his life and the lives of wrestling fans.

Slater said it can’t end for The Hardys on Sunday. Matt thanked Slater and insisted that he should be focused on becoming the youngest TNA X Division Champion in history. Slater said The Hardys need to focus as well and get back to being the old Hardys.

Jeff was fired up over Slater’s speech, but Fir$t Cla$$ interrupted. AJ Francis took exception to Matt making a joke about losing their match recently. Francis claimed Fir$t Cla$$ are the uncrowned champion just like Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Matt asked Slater to leave the ring so that they could handle business.

The Nemeth Brothers appeared and said both teams have forgotten who runs TNA. Things broke down in the ring when Zachary Wentz and Myron Reed marched down to the ring. The Hardys took out Fir$t Cla$$ and The Nemeth Brothers with a ladder.

Trick Williams and Frankie Kazarian vs. Joe Hendry and Mike Santana

Mike Santana and Joe Hendry argued before the match began, allowing Trick Williams to attack both men. Kazarian was tagged in, but he ate a shoulder block. Hendry planted him with a stalling suplex. Santana got in a blind tag and nailed Kazarian with a dropkick. Santana then hit Three Amigos and taunted Williams.

Kazarian rebounded with a twisting neckbreaker and tagged Williams back in. The TNA World Champion popped Santana with a dropkick. Santana chopped Williams in the corner before eating a forearm, followed by another dropkick. Kazarian was tagged in, and he was taken down with a clothesline. Santana hit the Rolling Buck Fifty for a near fall. Santana went for the Death Valley Driver, but he was shoved into the ropes. Williams got in a cheap shot, allowing Kazarian to land a springboard leg drop.

Santana finally rebounded with a double moonsault to Williams and Kazarian. The tag was made to Hendry, who had clotheslines for both of his opponents. He then planted Kazarian with a cutter. Hendry caught Kazarian and hit the fallaway slam. He then had one for Williams.

Hendry measured Kazarian for Standing Ovation, but Santana tagged himself in. Santana hit Spin The Block on Kazarian for the win.

Winners: Mike Santana and Joe Hendry
