The Hardys and The Righteous did battle in the first-ever ‘Wicked Garden match’. TNA director of authority Santino Marella teamed with Indi Hartwell to take on Stacks and Arianna Grace.
Eddie Edwards w/The System vs. BDE
BDE got off to a strong start with a springboard crossbody. He then took out Eddie Edwards with a suicide dive. BDE went high-risk, but Edwards cut him off and hit a chop to the back. Edwards then landed an avalanche belly-to-back suplex for a two-count. BDE managed to connect with a reverse DDT for a near fall. He attempted the Clip Cutter but settled for a DDT, followed by a Codebreaker. Alisha got on the apron, but Edwards nearly ran into his wife. BDE hit the Clip Cutter for a two-count.
The System all got involved to distract the referee, allowing Edwards to get his knees up when BDE went for a frog splash. The former TNA World Champion then hit the Boston Knee Party for the win.
Winner: Eddie Edwards
The System measured BDE for a post-match attack, but Fabian Aichner ran down looking to make the save. Bear Bronson halted Aichner with a Uranage before Leon Slater marched down to the ring. Slater wiped out Cedric Alexander with a running kick. Slater, Aichner, and BDE all landed superkicks on Bronson. The System was then wiped out by Big Play Slater.
The Righteous Vow to Change The Hardys
A vignette for the Wicked Garden match aired. Vincent insisted The Righteous “freed” The Hardys. Dutch warned The Hardys that they wouldn’t leave the garden the same way they entered. Jeff Hardy was seen making his way to the garden, and the commentators wondered which version of The Hardys would show up.
AJ Francis Steals Elijah’s Gimmick
AJ Francis was out to address the paperwork that he demanded last week. Francis claimed he dropped 300 pounds of dead weight when he ditched KC Navarro and Rich Swann. He debuted a new song, “Walk,” but was interrupted by Elijah.
Elijah said he saved Francis from further embarrassment. He took exception to Elijah taking his gimmick with his song. Elijah was given a cease-and-desist letter after Francis legally took his IP and entire music catalog. Elijah wanted to sing a song called “No Skill, Uncle Phil,” but Francis popped him with a microphone before walking off. Elijah was bloodied thanks to the attack.
Daria Rae Shares Sarcastic Words for Indi Hartwell
Santino Marella and Indi Hartwell were preparing backstage before Daria Rae claimed she had nothing to do with Hartwell extending her TNA deal.
Elayna Black Eyes TNA Knockouts World Championship
Elayna Black claimed she outshined everyone in the Knockouts Champions Challenge last week. Black said Hartwell is desperate to kiss up to Santino Marella because she can’t survive based on her own talents. She vowed to be a future TNA Knockouts Champion.
Santino Marella and Indi Hartwell vs. Stacks and Arianna Grace
Frankie Kazarian was a guest on the commentary desk. Stacks immediately tagged in Arianna Grace, who dared Santino Marella to hit her. Marella refused to do so, and he was mushed in the face before Indi Hartwell took Grace down. Stacks tagged back in and ambushed Marella. Stacks poked Marella’s eyes before kissing Grace. Marella responded with a judo toss. Marella locked up a rear-naked choke, but he couldn’t get the hooks in, allowing Stacks to break free and regain the advantage.
Stacks mocked Marella, but it cost him as he missed a headbutt. Hartwell and Grace were the legal competitors, and Hartwell dropped her opponent with a spinebuster. Stacks grabbed Hartwell’s foot and got his hand stomped for his efforts. Grace took advantage with a knee to the face, followed by stomps in the corner. Hartwell kicked out after being dropped by a spinning neckbreaker. Grace landed a snap suplex and then a basement forearm. The two traded clotheslines before Marella and Stacks were tagged back in. Marella landed combination punches on Stacks, followed by a hip toss and a headlock.
Marella went for the cobra, but Grace took it from him. Grace then put on the cobra, but she accidentally hit Stacks when Hartwell pulled Marella out of the way. Marella pulled out another cobra and let Hartwell have the original. A double cobra took out both Stacks and Grace.
Winners: Santino Marella and Indi Hartwell
The Undead Realm Haunts The Elegance Brand
Rosemary, Allie, and Mara Sade shut the lights off in the dressing room with The Elegance Brand inside. When the lights turned back on, Mr. Elegance, Ash, M, and The Personal Concierge ran away.
Eric Young Lands First Shot on Mike Santana
Eric Young cut a promo in the ring and said he’s been making progress “cleansing” TNA. He called Ricky Sosa a “flash in the pan.” Young bragged about getting rid of Joe Hendry and EC3 as well. Young said Mike Santana is just as bad as the names he mentioned, and he’s “sick” for the approval of the fans. Santana made his way out and told Young to shut it in Spanish. He said Young hasn’t been relevant in 15 years. Young said he’s seen wrestlers come and go, and he’s been the lone constant of TNA Wrestling. Santana said Young is the true poison of TNA. Young insisted the fans don’t truly care about Santana.
He called Santana the “shiny new toy,” but his shine will run out. Young said he would hit a Piledriver on Santana and take back his power. Santana then suggested that he defend the TNA World Championship against Eric Young next week, but he wanted to fight on the spot. Young took advantage with a low blow. He then delivered on his promise, landing a Piledriver on Santana. Young held up the TNA World Championship and placed it on Santana’s body to end the segment.
Mustafa Ali Blames Tasha Steelz for KC Navarro’s Win Last Week
Mustafa Ali blamed Order 4 after he was pinned in the Champions Challenge by KC Navarro last week. Ali claimed Navarro’s win last week was a “mistake.” He then scolded Tasha Steelz for not sticking to the plan. Next week, it’ll be Ali defending the TNA International Championship against Navarro.
Lei Ying Lee vs. Mr. Elegance w/The Elegance Brand
Xia Brookside was on commentary, and she was not impressed with Lei Ying Lee vs. Mr. Elegance being booked. Lee tripped Mr. Elegance and mocked his taunt. She then delivered a hip toss. Lee rained down punches in the corner before the Elegance Brand got on the apron. The referee threw all members of the faction out of the match.
Mr. Elegance gained the advantage and hit his version of Devil’s Kiss. Lee ate a big left punch from her opponent. Lee sent Mr. Elegance into the middle turnbuckle before landing multiple kicks. The TNA Knockouts World Champion countered her opponent’s kick attempt with an ankle lock. Lee’s opponent reached the bottom rope to escape. Lee lifted Mr. Elegance, but she couldn’t support his weight. Mr. Elegance then hit a pop-up punch. He went high-risk but got crotched on the top turnbuckle. She then lifted Mr. Elegance up and went for Warrior’s Way, but Xia Brookside got on the apron.
Mr. Elegance raked the eyes of Lee when the referee wasn’t looking and hit Excusez-moi for the victory.
Winner: Mr. Elegance
After the match, Brookside revealed that she will be challenging Lee for the TNA Knockouts World Championship at “Slammiversary.”
Wicked Garden Match: The Hardys vs. The Righteous
The Hardys showed up in their “Broken” form. A slew of men dressed in The Righteous’ white attire surrounded the ring but made their exit before the match began. Both teams brawled right away. The Hardys were almost sent into the barbed wire-wrapped ropes. Matt Hardy was then nearly sent into the barbed wire board. Dutch was driven through the board, which got quick “This is awesome” chants from the crowd. Jeff was the first to be sent into the barbed-wire ropes. Vincent then wrapped Jeff’s arm around the barbed wire before Matt dropped him.
Matt grabbed a garden rake and dug into Dutch’s head. Dutch was bleeding following the attack. Hardy doubled down by continuing to rake The Righteous member’s head. Vincent planted Matt on the canvas. He then wrapped barbed wire around Matt’s forehead. Jeff split the uprights on Vincent before hitting a basement dropkick. Matt also ended up bleeding from the barbed wire assault. The action spilled to the outside. Vincent raked Matt’s face into the bottom rope, while Jeff tossed rubbing alcohol on Dutch’s wounds.
Back in the ring, Dutch lifted Jeff and slammed him down onto the barbed-wire board. Vincent wrapped barbed wire around Jeff’s body. He then put a barbed wire crown over his hand and landed a punch on Jeff. Matt then did the same thing, but he delivered a low blow to Dutch. Jeff landed a Twist of Fate on Vincent over the top rope, allowing Matt to complete the Plot Twist. The Hardys then wrapped barbed wire around the head of Vincent. By this point, every competitor was bleeding. The Hardys hit a double suplex on Dutch. They then wrapped the barbed wire around the mouth of Dutch before Vincent intervened.
Vincent and Dutch were on the receiving end of Poetry in Motion. Matt landed the Side Effect on Dutch for a near fall. Matt went for Twist of Fate, but Dutch ran him into the barbed wire board. Jeff went high-risk, but he was pulled down and hit with a kendo stick. The Righteous wrapped Jeff around the ropes. Vincent put a flower in Jeff’s mouth. Matt hit a double DDT on The Righteous. Jeff appeared to be in rough shape after eating the flower and collapsed outside the ring. A concerned Matt was distracted, allowing The Righteous to capitalize. The commentators suggested Jeff might have been poisoned. Jeff began vomiting outside the ring.
Jeff was stretchered out of the ring, but he ran back in trying to fight on instinct. It didn’t work, as Dutch hit Death Walks on Matt. The Righteous hit Orange Sunshine on Matt for the win.
Winners: The Righteous
After the match, the lights went out, and The Hardys disappeared. This left The Righteous a bit confused and perhaps concerned.
