Add FightsATW on GoogleWelterweight Demontaze “Juicy” Duncan returns Friday night in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, at the Triple Crown Pavilion.
Duncan, 24, enters on a seven-fight win streak, with six of those wins coming by stoppage. The local favorite Duncan (15-1, 14 KOs), known as the “People’s Champ,” will face journeyman veteran Jerome Clayton.
His trainer and promoter, Nicholas Bareis, is putting the bout together, and he has been a lifelong influence on the fighter.
“Demontaze Duncan represents everything superstars of boxing are about,” Nicholas Bareis told FightsATW. “He comes from Louisville, he fights for Louisville, and he brings an energy to the building that people have to experience in person. We are building something special in this city, and October 2 will be another major step forward for our fighters, our promotion, and professional boxing throughout this entire region.”
Duncan, who won multiple national titles, suffered a shocking 2023 loss to Axl Melendez. Since then, he has rebuilt himself into a promising contender eyeing a step up to the world-class stage in 2027.
Also featured on the card are: Nasel “The Real Deal” Reed, Johnell “Filthy” Taylor, Jasir “Sosa” Riley, Alex Maldonado, Yorman “Aztec Warrior” Guerrero, Tyler Albrecht, William Phillips, and VeShawnChampion.
“Louisville is the City of Legends, and we are developing the next generation of superstars,” Bareis said. “We want every boxing fan, sports fan, business owner, and family in this region to be part of what we are building. These are not just boxing matches. These are major Louisville events that bring people together and give our fighters the platform they deserve.”
