Triple H Hints at ‘Disney’-esque Treat For WWE Fans

With the summer sun blazing strong, wrestling fans have their eyes set on SummerSlam 2025. However, this year’s SummerSlam comes with a welcome addition. The event set to take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on August 2 and 3, will be a two-night event for the first time in its history. Jam-packed with 12 iconic matches, including a few surprise celebrity entrances and WWE legend John Cenas farewell tour, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, believes that re-introducing it as a two-day extravaganza will only do good for the brand.

Triple H was recently in an interview with WFAN’s Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata, where he delved into the promotion’s idea behind the expanded format.

“It has been successful for us on the WrestleMania side for sure,” he said. “The two-night WrestleMania is a destination weekend for people that can come in, you know, I think people plan their year and vacation around it. A lot of folks do, they come in.”

He revealed that most audience members arrive on Thursday and go straight to the WWE World to check out the memorabilia and get autographs. Followed by SmackDown on Friday night, the Saturday and Sunday events, NXT on a few afternoons, and events all the way through to Monday night.

This, in turn, made WrestleMania wildly successful as a business. Triple H believes that by making good use of such an opportunity, SummerSlam could become WWE’s very own Cinco de Mayo.

“When we say we come in and we take over, that New York/New Jersey area will just be WWE central. If you’re a fan, there’s nothing like it. It’s going to Disney for pro wrestling. It’s worked for us at WrestleMania, it’ll work for us at SummerSlam. It’s going incredibly well. The business is there, so let’s take it,” he said.

“Fascinated With The Behind-The-Scenes”

Another major addition that is making the rounds is the Netflix docuseries, WWE Unreal, which chronicles the behind-the-scenes happenings of the promotion. Talking during the same interview, Triple H highlighted that it was direly necessary to ensure that fans weren’t left in the dark.

“People didn’t know. They didn’t. They didn’t know the ins and the outs. They didn’t know what was going on behind the scenes. They maybe talked about it a little bit. Now, you know, you can’t,” he said. “And it’s the funny thing that you talk about Unreal. Like, people that are fans of our business are just as fascinated with the behind-the-scenes of what we do as they are seeing it take place and the entertainment that it provides in real time. And all the things that goes into it.”
