Who is Logan Paul?

Logan Paul is a 28-year-old American social media personality, actor, podcaster, and professional wrestler. The Westlake, Ohio-born multi-tasker has regularly placed on the Forbes list for the highest-paid YouTube creators since 2017. With 23 million subscribers on his own YouTube channel and another 4 million who subscribe to his Impaulsive podcast on the platform, it is fair to say Logan Paul is well known to the YouTube generation.

Amongst all of this, Paul has dabbled in boxing – having boxed once as an amateur, once as a professional, and also in an exhibition bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr. He is the older brother of professional boxer Jake Paul.

YouTube Popularity Leads To Acting and Eventually A WWE Contract

Beginning in 2013 and developing his brand further in 2015 with the creation of his Logan Paul Vlogs channel on YouTube, Paul was also building his follower numbers on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Paul was afforded some acting opportunities as his numbers across social media grew. In 2015 he had a guest role in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

2016 saw the rising internet star appear in episodes of Stitchers and Bizaardvark. Paul’s acting portfolio grew with roles in several films around this time. He starred in the YouTube Red feature film The Thinning (2016) and its sequel, The Thinning: New World Order (2018). The versatile Paul has also acted in Where’s The Money (2017) and the 2020 remake of the 1983 hit film Valley Girl.

Since 2021, Logan Paul has been involved with the WWE. Combining his acting talents with his athleticism and entertainment skills, Paul has appeared at huge events in the WWE calendar, such as SummerSlam, The Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania. Logan Paul is currently signed to a multi-year contract with the WWE which will ensure more regular and frequent appearances for the wrestling organization.

Logan Paul and the Sweet Science

With his natural ability for athletic pursuits not in doubt, Paul dabbled in boxing from 2018-2021. A feud with English internet personality KSI led to an amateur bout between the two popular YouTubers in August 2018. The tussle took place at the Manchester Arena, Manchester, England, and streamed on YouTube’s pay-per-view platform. 1.3 million buys returned a tidy sum of $13 million for the fight, which was scored as a draw.

A November 2019 rematch between Paul and KSI took place in Los Angeles. This time their fight was contested as a professional boxing match. PPV sales across the US and UK markets crossed the 2 million threshold. KSI won the bout via split decision. So far, Paul’s final outing in a boxing ring was a June 2021 exhibition bout against retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. 1 million PPV sales in America banked the event $50 million. The exhibition, which took place in Miami, Florida, went the eight-round distance with no winner being declared as it was a non-scored bout.

While Logan Paul looks to have moved away from boxing for the time being with his commitment to WWE and some other business ventures, who is to say that with his prior experience in the sport, he won’t return at some point in the future for another exhibition bout?
