The human buzzsaw returns on Saturday night at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV. Undefeated Lightweight contender William Zepeda (29-0, 25 KOs) takes on Maxi Hughes (26-6-2, 5 KOs) in an IBF & WBA title eliminator live on DAZN.

Zepeda has been plowing through lightweight contenders, and he is finally at a point where a victory will force someone to give him a shot at the title. Zepeda last fought in September, breaking down Mercito Gesta in a one-sided fight leading to a sixth-round stoppage. His promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, has been telling media that if Zepeda wins on Saturday night, he will have him face WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson in his very next fight. That is an interesting matchup, but for now, Zepeda must get by Hughes on Saturday night.

Hughes hasn’t been as active as Zepeda, and he is coming off a loss against George Kambosos Jr in July, which was his only fight in 2023. Hughes isn’t a big puncher, so it’ll be hard to keep Zepeda off of him, which is why the oddsmakers are making Zepeda such a big favorite in this one. Can Hughes box his way to a decision victory in Las Vegas on Saturday night?
