What is next for Johnny Fisher?

The big-ticket seller made his Zuffa Boxing debut, winning a lackluster majority decision over Michael Pirotton (12-3, 6 KOs) in the U.K. The bout left many with more questions than answers.

First, let’s explain who Fisher (15-1, 12 KOs) is. He is a likable fighter who is often featured in social media posts alongside his father, who was unable to garner support in their community. Fisher’s unpretentious attitude made him a hit among many. He might not have the talent of others, but he will give it an honest try. He is blue-collar and connected with people.

Then he fought Dave Allen, essentially the precursor to Fisher. Many were worried about Allen going into the bout. The result: Fisher won a dubious decision the first time around and was knocked out the second time. He returned in December, marking his first fight in 2026. With Fisher, you know what you are getting: the show is mostly before the fight, but you get someone willing to try, though lacking the experience to truly compete.

Let’s look at realistic (and fun) potential matchups.

Jeamie Tshikeva

TKV has a win over Frazer Clarke, but he seems to be a British boxing lifer. Most U.S. fight fans will likely not be able to recall a single moment from TKV’s career, and that is fine. TKV shows vulnerabilities where you think Fisher could beat him, but he is good enough that you wonder if he would beat Fisher. A great fight on paper.

Frazer Clarke

The 2020 British bronze medalist, Clarke, looked like a Tony Bellew figure. Instead, he might be this era’s Audley Harrison. Clarke has taken a lot of damage, and a fight against Fisher would be interesting for both, as Clarke might be closer to the end of his career than people think.

Deontae Pettigrew

A largely untested heavyweight from the Midwest announced he will now be with Kronk Gym. He has two fights scheduled, and honestly, Pettigrew has a lot of questions about how he competes at the highest level. A fight between Pettigrew and Fisher answers questions for both.

Adam Stewart

Stewart lost during the COVID bubble. Now he is on a win streak. He is a tough fighter from Arizona who is building himself back up. If you wanted to put Fisher in with a guy who hasn’t been on TV that often but has a good record, this is the fight.

Richard Riakporhe

I am not sure Fisher can win this one, but it is certainly a good fight. Riakporhe has had his highs and lows in the sport and has lost only to Chris Billam-Smith at cruiserweight. It would be a major test for Fisher at this point.
