WWE Bad Blood 2024 Full Preview

Wrestling fans won’t have to wait much longer as WWE’s Bad Blood will stream live on Peacock from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA, on Saturday night. Like many other PLEs (Premium Live Events), there are a ton of rumors circulating on social media. The dirt sheets are full of potential cameos, but one that seems to have some legs is that there will be vintage WCW (World Championship Wrestling) wrestlers (Steiner Bros., Diamond Dallas Page, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, etc) in attendance (according to PWInsider), which makes sense given that Atlanta was the home of WCW. There have also been whispers that The Rock may come in towards the night’s end. If this happens, it will confirm an exclusive report from FightsATW in the summer that The Rock would return in the Fall.

With all of that being said, here is a full preview of the event itself, as this PLE could be what dictates future storylines leading into WrestleMania 41.

Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley for the women’s world heavyweight championship (With Dominik Mysterio in a shark cage)

If this match had occurred a month ago, Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley could have very well been the main event, but in the last few weeks, the storyline has become stale and redundant. It is at a point where this match feels like a new storyline will come out of it instead of adding a layer to it. One name that FightsATW thinks may interfere here will be Charlotte Flair. That type of disruption would be welcomed to break up the stale storyline. Regarding the match, this one will likely end in a disqualification or Rhea Ripley losing due to some outside interference. Liv Morgan will move on to another story while Rhea and Charlotte build towards a WrestleMania matchup.

CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre (Hell in a Cell)

The Hell in a Cell matchup between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre is rumored to kick off the show. If that is the case, then this match is the one that will set the tone for the rest of the night. Punk and McIntyre are two trustworthy veterans that know exactly what they need to do to get the crowd going. The match will be intense, have blood, and the cage will be appropriately utilized. In the end, CM Punk will have his hand raised, but not before turning heel and beating down McIntyre so badly that the crowd will help turn him face. Punk has been hinting at turning with heel-type actions the past few weeks, so the bigger surprise on Saturday is if he doesn’t turn.

Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor

Damian Priest and Finn Balor are due to have a great match, and Saturday should be the day that it happens. This also feels like a match that will create a new storyline that could see the Wyatt Sicksinterfering, which allows Priest to win. The idea would be that the Wyatt Sicks try to recruit Balor into their stable but as the Demon. This could turn into Balor being part of the Judgement Day as Finn but also part of the Wyatt Sicks as the Demon. With all of this happening, there is a ton of potential, but if that doesn’t occur, then this rivalry needs to end on Saturday and give both men a fresh story. Is there a possibility that we see the Hardy Boyz in this match too? This match has the opportunity to go in a few different directions making it one of the more intriguing of the night.

Nia Jax (c) vs. Bayley for the WWE women’s championship

The expectation level isn’t high for this match, as the buzz for the storyline just hasn’t been there. Nia Jax’s title run has felt more like a placeholder than an actual run. The more interesting angle is the potential storyline between Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton. I can see this playing out where Bayley beats Nia, and then it’ll be “Tiffy Time” cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase and beating Bayley. Afterward, Nia will expect that Stratton will give the title back to her, in which Stratton will tell her ‘no’ which will ignite that storyline instantaneously.

Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu

The Bloodline vs. Roman Reigns is THE match everyone is highly anticipating. The number one question everyone wants to know is what will Roman do? Will he be a good partner to Cody Rhodes? Will he turn on Cody? Are we going to see Dustin Rhodes for a hometown pop? Is The Rock going to be in the building? This match is so intriguing because it’s not a clear-cut storyline, and the roads are endless.

The Rock did hint earlier in the year that the story was just getting started, so the idea of long-term booking that will keep you hooked the whole way through is exciting. There will be a moment where Jacob Fatu and Roman meet in the middle of the ring. That’s the matchup the Wrestling Universe is salivating over so leave it up to the WWE to tease it some more on Saturday. In the end, this match doesn’t feel like it will end in a pin, and whatever happens, it will nicely set up Survivor Series in November.
