WWE Clash in Italy took place at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy—the same venue as tomorrow’s RAW—and delivered two title matches that bookended the event. The first hour of the show was free on ESPN before they switched over to the app, similar to how they broadcast both night one and night two of WrestleMania’s opening hour.

There was a last-minute change that shifted the highly anticipated rematch between Lesnar and Oba Femi. Originally scheduled for the first hour for free, the same spot it held at Mania night two, the match was moved to the main show and replaced with the Rhea-Jade match. Oba Femi’s success and quick rise are partially based on the amount of casual eyeballs locked on him throughout the road to WrestleMania, so placing him behind a paywall is a good way to make the event must-see, but it does little to continue Oba’s meteoric rise.

As for tonight’s main event, it was reported a couple of days ago that Jacob Fatu suffered an injury that could prevent him from challenging for the title, but WWE announced that he was good to go a few hours before showtime.

ROMAN REIGNS(c) VS JACOB FATU—WWE Heavyweight Title/ULA FALA (TRIBAL COMBAT)

The crowd was on fire as Roman made his way to the ring with both the heavyweight title and the Ula Fala—perhaps his last time walking in with both—while Fatu was already in the ring waiting for him after ‘punking out’ a fan holding a replica IC title during his intro.

It was a very physical match, and unlike their last match, the foreign objects were as legal as the time they spent fighting around the arena. We saw Roman throw the steel steps from inside the ring to the outside and onto Fatu. A steel toolbox was thrown at Fatu while the challenger spent most of his energy throwing himself at Roman. The story of acknowledgment was marred by their first match, in which Roman made the stakes clear before the PLE—Fatu protected the stipulation by claiming he felt no need to acknowledge Roman outside of a Tribal Combat match. It was a well-paced match, and both men played their role with Roman attempting to beat the respect into Fatu.

Fatu managed to ‘hulk up’ at one point, eating several ‘superman punches’ without going down after previously taking two separate shots from a Roman counter. Roman yelled at Fatu midway through the match, blaming him for forcing this violence out of the champ and onto family. The match ended when Roman hit his spear onto Fatu through the Slim Jim table in the corner of the ring—the table absolutely exploded. Roman covered for the pinfall victory over Jacob in Tribal Combat, retaining his title.

Following the match, both USOs came down to the ring, and the camera swung over to show Solo with the remaining MFTs. On commentary, Michael Cole said that Fatu will now have to ‘fulfill his obligation’ by acknowledging Roman on tomorrow’s episode of Monday Night RAW. It was a flat ending on an otherwise fantastic show.

BROCK LESNAR VS OBA FEMI

The match started fast as Lesnar hit Oba Femi before the lights kicked back on following the championship intros, then hit his opponent with four consecutive F-5s. Amazingly, Oba Femi kicked out in the first of his amazing ‘comeback’ moments. In fact, several moments later, when Lensar had Oba in a Kamora submission move, the Nigerian monster managed to break the hold by picking up Lesnar while the hold was latched on tight.

After breaking that hold, the match went to the outside, where Lesnar put Oba Femi through another F-5, this time through the commentary desk. Yet, every time Lesnar hit Oba with something, the upstart managed to survive and fight back with even more intensity. In the end, Oba attempted the pop-up powerbomb and managed to hoist the big man up—it would have been the perfect moment to finish and prove he is the new monster—but Lesnar picked up the pinfall victory after a hard-fought match.

Lesnar and Heyman walked off, talking smack to Oba, who was left defeated in the ring, and we are likely heading towards the biggest trilogy in WWE history.

CODY RHODES(c) VS GUNTHER—WWE World Title

The match opened the entire show with the first hour broadcast on ESPN, and the Italian fanbase gave the baby face a huge welcome as he wore a custom version of his ‘American Nightmare’ coat with the Italian flag colors on the back. Gunther controlled the early action and maintained the majority of the offense throughout the match.

The champ’s chest was left red from the challenger’s vicious slaps, and he eventually found himself in a similar situation to John Cena in his final match. Gunther locked in the chokehold, and Cody was starting to fade before eventually escaping the submission.

Cody’s run dating back to the end of 2025 has been riding a narrative of ‘doing what it takes’ to be the champion and stand on top, flirting with heel tactics that undermine his reputation as the “face” of the company. Tonight’s finish played into that exact narrative.

Cody hit the ‘Cross Rhodes’ on Gunther and hooked the leg during the pinfall, but the challenger managed to get his leg out of the ring, and what should have broken the pin was missed by the ref. Cody won despite Gunther’s post-match objections, and once again, the face of the company gets the “A-side” treatment.

BECKY LYNCH(c) VS SOL RUCA—Women’s Intercontinental Title

Sol Ruca did not waste any time picking up gold on the main roster after being moved up following Mania, and she did it by defeating future Hall of Famer Becky Lynch. The feud was built up after Becky cheated her way to a win over Ruca in their first contest at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Sol Ruca has had a rough start on the main roster as several “Soul Snatcher” attempts were missed on WWE TV, prompting fans online to wonder whether she would be served better by changing her finisher. However, it was her time at the performance center, working alongside her colleagues, that allowed her to capitalize on the timing of the move. Ruca needs time working with the main roster superstars, and she proved that tonight by taking down Becky in a solid match by successfully hitting the “Soul Snatcher” on the biggest stage of her career.

RHEA RIPLEY(c) VS JADE CARGILL—WOMEN’S WORLD TITLE

Ripley was able to successfully defended despite interference from B-Fab and Minchin on behalf of the former champion, Jade. This was a rematch of their WrestleMania 42 contest, but the difference tonight was Charlotte Flair’s support after weeks of apprehension about a working relationship with Rhea.

Flair helped neutralize Jade’s faction and even helped Rhea by stepping on the rope, something B-Fab had done earlier in the match to help Jade. Rhea won the match and successfully defended her title, but it feels like the real build will feature Rhea against Charlotte because trusting a Flair only gets you so far.
