As of today, “WWE Night of Champions 2025” is still scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 28, from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, live on Peacock (in the U.S.) and Netflix (Internationally).
The main event that has social media buzzing is the undisputed WWE title match between the champion John Cena and the challenger CM Punk. Fresh off his version of a “pipe bomb” promo where he “broke the fourth wall,” Cena has all of the momentum heading into this title defense. With this being the final year for Cena as an in-ring performer, fans should expect Cena to have some help to ensure he retires as champion.
The next big match, which could be a headliner on its own, is Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton in the King of the Ring Finals. The winner will not only get to be called King of the Ring, but he will also get a title shot at SummerSlam, which is a two-night event for the first time. Rhodes has been making comments on various platforms about the potential for him to turn “heel.” If there were ever a time to do that, it would be against Orton, whose babyface run is “over” with the fans. Who will come out on top?
The rest of the match card has some interesting matches in it, and there is no question that at the end of the show, we will have an idea of what to expect at SummerSlam in August.
