WWE Monday Night RAW was live at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY, with the feature story surrounding Jey Uso ‘delivering’ Solo Sikoa to the “OTC” himself. Roman Reigns is currently sitting back in the locker room, allowing the AAA/RAW tournament to crown his number one contender for the RAW in Mexico City on September 17, but his Bloodline faction has been embroiled in a feud with Solo, LA Knight, and the now-injured Royce Keys.

It was announced that Atlanta will host the September 6 Saturday Night’s Main Event, though the event will take place on a Sunday, adding to the slate of shows in the next couple of months surrounding WWE/AAA/NXT. Buzz surrounding tonight’s show was that a major booking would be announced for the rebranded ‘Sunday Night’s Main Event.

JEY’S DOORDASH FOR ROMAN—A SOLO ORDER

It was shown earlier in the night that Jey and Jimmy were already ordering Solo around as they headed towards Roman’s locker room. In that segment, LA Knight was seen attempting to empathize with Solo’s current predicament. Throughout the night, The USOs trolled Solo as they counted down the seconds to their show-ending segment.

Roman was out first with Jacob Fatu, but it was not long before Jey and Jimmy brought out Solo and began to berate him. He told Solo that it ‘disgusted’ him to look at how far he has fallen from his ‘Tribal Chief’s’ grace. That is when Roman told Solo to get on his knees before striking him down, and that unleashed the wrath of Fatu, who locked in his Tongan Death Grip.

Solo was choking on his own spit, and that was when Roman thought it was the perfect time to gift his ‘chiefs’ with all-black Ula Falas meant to reward The USOs for delivering on his order—thankfully, no DoorDash product placement was used in this segment. Jacob Fatu was the only Bloodline member not to receive a gift, and it left him with quite the salty look.

LA Knight came down to try and make the save, but he ended up falling victim to the numbers as The USOs and Jacob beat on him. Roman had the segment well in hand, deciding it was time for Solo to put in work for his Tribal Chief. He had The Bloodline hold Knight, and Roman screamed at Solo to finish him off, and Solo kept yelling sorry to Knight over and over again.

Solo let out a loud tribal scream before redirecting his blow onto Roman, which popped the live crowd. Jey and Jimmy looked on in shock as if they hadn’t been humiliating Solo all night, and that is when Knight joined in to beat down on The USOs. Knight managed to hit Roman with the “Blunt Force Trauma” as Solo beat on Jey from outside the ring.

As The Bloodline was getting beaten on, Jacob Fatu stared from the corner without a real reaction, simply standing with his hands crossed as he allowed Roman to get beaten down. Earlier in the segment, Roman tried to contain Fatu and ordered him to ‘control himself,’ so this might have been a situation where Jacob snapped after being overlooked by his Tribal Chief.

RAW closed with Solo and Knight walking out of the ring standing tall over Roman’s Bloodline, but the crowd’s reaction illustrates a potential changing of the guard on Mondays just as the OTC’s faction is in disarray.

OBA FEMI-BREAKKER SET FOR SUNDAY NIGHT’S MAIN EVENT

Breakker was seen pouting on the far side of the frame as The Vision was interviewed backstage, though Bron’s mind was set on Oba Femi. Bron Breakker came out on his own to deliver a promo on Oba, and that is when Paul Heyman came out to broker the remainder of the segment.

Oba Femi made his way out to the ring, and the crowd chanted his name as Breakker was forced to see where he stands among the fans in this program with the man Brock Lesnar called “the future.” The promo battle was just the tease for Heyman’s announcement that we fight with our hands.

After weeks of teases, Heyman announced that Oba and Bron will face off at Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta. Breakker was stoked as Oba stared down his next obstacle following his trilogy-deciding win over Lesnar. It was announced towards the end of the show that Oba and Breakker will have a contract signing next week on RAW.

CHAD GABLE(c) VS REY MYSTERIO JR.—Intercontinental Championship

After an impromptu challenge from the IC champ himself, Rey Mysterio Jr. accepted, and the match was announced for tonight in Buffalo earlier in the day. It might have made more sense to save this for one of the upcoming WWE/AAA duel shows, but they set the crowd on fire with a TV classic. The 51-year-old Mysterio took the champion to his limit with a display that seemed to turn back time as he hit every ‘hurricane’ and ‘dragonrana’ with the precision of his WCW cruiserweight days.

Chad had the ankle locked twice in the match, and in one instance, he had Rey ready to tap before a counter broke the hold. Gable retained in the end, but the showing will leave fans clamoring for another match from the legend as he remains closer to the end of his career than the beginning.

AAA TOURNAMENT TO CROWN ROMAN’S #1 CONTENDER: REY FENIX AND DRAGON LEE ADVANCE

Rey Fenix defeated El Fiscal in their opening round of their matchup to decide who will go on to face Roman Reigns on RAW live from Mexico City. With both Penta and LA Parka advancing last week, they will now face each other to see who advances to the finals. In Fenix’s case, he was able to learn his opponent immediately as Dragon Lee and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. faced off in a tremendous affair.

Dragon Lee defeated Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., but the former AAA Latin American champion gave the type of effort that could see him return to the WWE as a member of the roster one day. Dragon Lee will now face Fenix in what is sure to be a banger, though Penta remains the ‘odds-on favorite.’

OTHER TIDBITS

– Je’Von Evans defeated JD McDonaugh in a singles match but was attacked in the post-match once again by Big Cass. This week, however, Evans was able to get some offense in on Big Cass before Dom Mysterio took Evans out on his way to ‘Gorilla.’

– Stephanie Vaquer kicked RAW off before being confronted by Liv Morgan and The Judgment Day. Becky came in to make the save, but this entire program feels clunky and overdone.
