The WWE is hosting another Saturday Night’s Main Event program this weekend live from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, FL, streaming live on Peacock.
Although the previous Saturday Night’s Main Event shows didn’t have a huge impact on the storylines, this one in particular feels as though it will begin to set the table for the two-night Summer Slam event in August at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, also home of the New York Giants & Jets.
The main event is currently Jey Uso defending his WWE heavyweight title against Logan Paul. I say currently, as John Cena is on the card against R-Truth and as we’ve seen at previous PLEs (Premium Live Event), he can easily be made into the last match of the night. The Uso vs. Paul match, while having Gunther watching closely, is one of the more intriguing matchups of the night.
Speaking of Cena, this R-Truth match can go in a couple of different ways, but one thing is for sure: whatever the direction, it has to be good. The Cena heel run has received mixed reviews, and if the WWE wants to head into the summer on fire, they need to make sure to get this Cena story back on track.
The other two matches should produce some highlights, but the last two mentioned are the ones that will carry this program. Who will come out better than they went in on Saturday night?
