As the Road to WrestleMania XL continues, WWE Smackdown builds momentum with one of their biggest storylines in recent years. Earlier today, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson announced on social media that this Friday’s Smackdown show in Glendale, AZ, is sold out. While making that announcement, he also took a moment to let his followers know the subsequent dates on which he would be appearing on the program.
The Rock posted, “You can feel the uptick, excitement, energy & disruption happening now in pro wrestling. It’s super fucking cool to see. Glendale, Arizona SOLD OUT. Your city will never be the same. Up next: DALLAS • March 8th; MEMPHIS • March 15th”
It’s no surprise that the WWE Universe is reacting this way, as The Rock turning heel hasn’t been seen in years. The intrigue behind it all is that no one knows if he has truly turned heel or if, for the story, The Rock is with Cody Rhodes and will help him finish his story. There is plenty of excitement as the WWE heads to the Lincoln Financial Field on April 6 & 7 for WrestleMania XL.
In the meantime, WWE just announced that on its RAW program tonight, Cody Rhodes will be taking on Grayson Waller, as this story is a spillover from Saturday’s Elimination Chamber in Perth. Can Cody Rhodes continue to fuel his momentum and keep everyone tuned in until he reaches WrestleMania? As we get closer and the storylines settle in more, it’ll be interesting to see what direction the WWE takes going into his Super Bowl of events.
