On Easter Sunday night, Paramount+ hosts Zuffa Boxing 05, featuring a main event between lightweight fighters Andres Cortes (24-0, 13 KOs) and Eridson Garcia (23-1, 14 KOs).
Cortes is coming off a year where he boxed twice, with his last fight ending in the fourth round via TKO over Derlyn Hernandez-Gerarldo in October. Cortes, who was with Top Rank, is now signed to Zuffa Boxing and hopes to win the Zuffa title in the future.
His opponent, Garcia, fought four times last year, with his last victory being a split decision over Taiga Imanaga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Garcia has been flying under the radar throughout his career, but Sunday’s main event will give him the opportunity to truly introduce himself to fans on a mainstream platform. With Garcia being the slight betting favorite on Sunday, can he pull it off, or will Cortes be too much for him and stay undefeated?
