Boxing returns to Japan on Saturday, which means Top Rank will be streaming the event in the early morning hours for those watching in the States. WBC bantamweight champion Alexandro Santiago (28-3-5, 14 KOs) will defend his title against two-division champion Junto Nakatani (26-0, 19 KOs). The oddsmakers are leaning heavily toward Nakatani, who will make his bantamweight debut and attempts to earn his third title in three different weight classes.
Although he doesn’t have a fantastic record, the champion Santiago is a tough fighter who is coming off a career-defining victory over the future hall of famer Nonito Donaire in July. Santiago is traveling to Japan to defend his title, but winning against Donaire has given him the confidence of a champion. Can Santiago derail the Nakatani train that seems to be gaining more speed after every fight?

Nakatani is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Argi Cortes in September, where he made a successful title defense. That was at super flyweight, and during the WBO conference, Nakatani gave the sanctioning body the courtesy of letting them know he was considering a move up in weight classes. A few months later, the announcement was made that the Santiago fight was signed, and now Nakatani will look to continue his run at winning titles in different divisions.
