Anthony Joshua vs Kristian Prenga Fight Results: Joshua Suffers Two Knockdowns Before Earning A KO

Anthony Joshua (30-4, 27 KOs) had to endure a nightmare first round to score a second-round knockout over Kristian Prenga (20-2, 20 KOs) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on DAZN pay-per-view.

It was a wild two rounds, and after the fight, Joshua commented on the Tyson Fury fight, but Eddie Hearn quickly pivoted to focus on Joshua’s performance and resilience. Hearn added that the contract is signed, but rumors of the fight being outside the U.K. would require renegotiations, so the Joshua-Fury drama is far from over.

In the first round, Prenga wasted no time and landed a right uppercut that sent Joshua crashing to the canvas for the first time in the fight. Joshua got up but was on extremely shaky legs, looking for any moment to hold on. Prenga seized the opportunity and landed a huge right hand to Joshua’s temple, sending the former unified champion down once again. Joshua beat the count but was badly hurt. Prenga was almost surprised by how hurt Joshua was. Prenga couldn’t finish Joshua off, which proved to be a big mistake.

After a chaotic first round, Joshua came back in the second and began throwing his left jab. After about 20 seconds into the round, Joshua landed a 1-2 combination down the middle that hurt Prenga. He then followed it up with a right hook that hurt Prenga and sent him crashing through the middle ropes. The referee began the count, and when Prenga tried to get up and fell back to his knees, the referee stopped the fight.

Now that both Joshua and Fury have won their fights, are we finally going to get this fight in the winter? Let’s certainly hope so.
