Arslanbek Makhmudov ‘Will Do Everything’ to Beat Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) and Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2, 19 KOs) are all set it out to fight it out in an all-out heavyweight showdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 11. With barely a few days left for the fight, Makhmudov knows one thing: he will stop at nothing to ensure that he wins.

Talking to the Guardian, the powerhouse from Dagestan revealed what it would feel like fighting Fury.

“Tyson Fury is the professor of mind and boxing. A lot of boxing is mental, and he is a master. But boxing is also spiritual. I am going to be strong, spiritual, and smart. You can say this is a war between mental and spiritual, and we’ll see who is more successful. Inshallah, it is spiritual,” he said.

The fight undoubtedly marks a pivotal moment for both fighters. Fury is returning after a 15‑month retirement following consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. And there is no denying that he is seeking a statement win to prove he is still at an elite level and to build momentum.

Makhmudov, on the other hand, is looking to get to the next level. While he is a powerful puncher, he has yet to face the very top tier of the division. However, his recent wins, including his last showdown against David Allen, have raised his profile and garnered interest from boxing aficionados.

The ‘Lion’ might be unsure about how his victory will come, but he sure is hungry enough to ensure that it happens.

“I don’t know how I will beat Fury, but of course I believe I will win. I invest a lot of my time in training, and I believe this is a good fight for me. I will do everything to win, inshallah, so that’s why you cannot miss this fight,” he said.

‘I Want A Brutal Knockdown”

Meanwhile, it comes as no surprise that Fury is also expecting a flawless victory. But simply winning the fight wouldn’t be ‘The Gypsy King’ style, would it. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said he was eyeing an explosive knockout.

“It’s just doing what I already did in the past but bringing different stuff back to life that I haven’t been doing lately, if a 37-year-old Tyson Fury can do what a 27-year-old Tyson Fury did back in the day. And so I’m really putting things together honestly,” he said. “I want a brutal knockout over Makhmudov. It’s going to be fun.”
