There is no denying that heavyweight superstar Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) has made a name for himself in the world of boxing. As he prepares to face Swedish boxer Otto Wallin (26-1-1, 14 KOs) in Saudi Arabia, he is also looking at an alternate path to become a “global name.”
AJ recently revealed that he sees modeling as another way of branding himself.
“I’ve always done it since the day I turned professional. Since 2012, I’ve been very active in that,” Joshua said in an exclusive interview with FightsATW. “Understanding that there is a lane outside of boxing that one has to be involved in if they want to become a global sensation.”
Notably, Joshua is a brand ambassador for the German fashion giant Hugo Boss, and he even walked the ramp for the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 fashion show at the Milan Fashion Week.
“Anthony Joshua starts today and has ten years to make my name a global name. So how do I connect with people with not only core boxing fans but outside of that?” he said. “So, I’ve always had that interest to build the name Anthony Joshua to be one recognized globally.”
With his towering height, striking features, and a smolder that might make Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson jealous, Joshua is sure to set the ramp on fire.
Should he audition for The Walking Dead instead?
While he silently plots to take over the fashion world, Joshua recently put on his ‘undead’ shoes to send waves across the virtual world.
He appeared in a Hollywood-style trailer along with fellow heavyweight Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) ahead of the Day of Reckoning showdown in Riyadh. Moreover, promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren also appeared in the trailer.
The video showed a zombified Joshua signing a blood contract with Hearn. While a zombified Wilder and Warren drive a van through a horde of zombies. Joshua’s screen presence in the trailer deserves a special mention, and so does his acting prowess.
Joshua later took to X to post a few behind-the-scenes snippets from the trailer. In the captions, he also reminded fans the Day of Reckoning is near. The cinematic trailer, along with these BTG snippets, have undoubtedly gotten the fans hyped about the mega fight.
Should Joshua pursue a modeling career or star in a zombie movie? Should a zombified Joshua fight a zombified Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs)? Regardless of the path he chooses, it sure looks like he will have a horde of opportunities in hand.
