Conor Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) recently piqued the interest of the boxing fraternity with his fiery social media spat with three-division world champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, AKA Abdul Wahid (29-0, 27 KOs). The spat further saw Benn’s promoter and Matchroom boss, Eddie Hearn, making an offer to Davis. And, according to WBA Continental (Europe) welterweight titleholder, ‘Tank’ might rake in millions for the fight.
Benn was in an interview with Matt Lenihan of Boxing Social. In conversation, he revealed that an offer had been made to Davis.
“A serious offer has been made. Let’s just see if he’s all talk. All the talking is done. If he wants to come and fight, don’t pipe up, start running your mouth on Twitter, and then not sign the contract. If he thinks I’m easy work, no problem. Sign the contract,” he said.
Benn mentioned that he was not an individual who was only talking on social media. He even compared the same to Errol Spence Jr (28-1, 22 KOs) “piping up on social media”. He further stated that while he actually tried to get fights with Keith Thurman (30-1-1, 22 KOs) and Mario Barrios (28-2, 18 KOs), Davis was only running his mouth on Twitter (X).

“If 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 mil ain’t enough, then stop piping up on Twitter. Stay quiet, stay at home with that little tag on your ankle with your house arrest,” Benn said. “Let’s fight then. What, you’re telling me $10-15 mil ain’t enough to fight me? If that ain’t enough, then just keep doing what you’re doing, focus on what you’re doing.”
“It is Going Stateside”
While an offer has been made to Davis, there is still the possibility of the fight not reaching fruition. Meanwhile, Benn revealed that he does not feel challenged by any other domestic fighter and wishes to look for fights in the US. “I’d say domestically, there ain’t really any massive names apart from Eubank, Smith, Brook, and you know, they’re not in their prime,” he said.
“So, it is going Stateside for me, where I feel like where the near future the fights are going to be, because it’s all the Americans, top American names.”
