‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ Mike Tyson (50-6-2, 44 KOs) is one of the most iconic names to step foot inside the ring. Along with this iconic status came an unimaginable amount of fame, which the champ often found overwhelming, he gears up for a summer showdown against Youtuber turned boxer Jake Paul (9-1, 6 KOs). Recently, Tyson made a heartfelt confession about handling fame.
Tyson recently sat down with host and Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios for the latest episode of “Good Trouble.” In conversation, Kyrgios asked him about finding fame at an early age and pressed him about his experience handling it. In response, Tyson admitted that he did not handle fame well in the beginning.
“At first, you want the fame of being a champion, but you have no control of that. And that’s when I first started getting in trouble. Because sometimes I’ll be walking down the street, they don’t know if my mother died, my brother died and somebody in my family, if I’m hurt. And they’re jumping, ‘Hey man, give me a picture.’ I might not be in the mood, so I was violent about it,” he said.

This was when Tyson started getting a few lawsuits. The champ mentioned that this was a wake-up call of sorts. While he was a “glutton for pain,” he was unable to keep signing checks. Kyrgios then asked him if the situation had gotten really bad at that point. Tyson confessed that it was one of his lowest points, where he constantly got sued and blew his money. He also mentioned that he was also associating with the wrong people and making bad business decisions.
“It was just the whole kabut, pretty much. It was just me getting caught up in a vortex of destroying myself,” he said.
“I Have To End Him”

While Tyson’s confession has certainly tugged at a few heartstrings, it sure looks like his upcoming opponent, Jake Paul, has remained unfazed. In fact, he has even vowed to end the legend inside the ring.
“I love Mike (Tyson). I’m super respectful of him. It’s an honor to be in the ring with him. But I have to end him,” Paul said while attending the Formula One Miami Grand Prix. “It’s war. All is fair in love and war. I love the guy, but as soon as it turned into a pro fight, one of us has to die.”
