Mike Tyson to Star in a New Superhero Movie

Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson (50-6-2, 44 KOs) is undoubtedly one of the most feared names to step foot inside the ring. While his skills as a boxer will forever remain cemented in the hearts of boxing fans, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ has actively showcased his acting chops in cinema and television. And now it looks like there will be a new addition to his diverse acting portfolio.

Tyson, who has a penchant for portraying badass characters, is set to star in an unconventional superhero movie titled, ‘Bunny Man,’ which will be shot in Turin, Italy. The champ recently attended a press conference in the city with producer Andrea Iervolino and writer Enrico Remmert to announce the movie.

Bunny Man revolves around a multimillionaire superhero, a vigilante of sorts, who fights crime in the city while wearing a rabbit mask. While the idea might seem similar to DC’s Batman, Bunny Man is said to have become a superhero to avenge his sister’s death. “We are excited to embark on this innovative project, 95% of which will be shot on a virtual set,” Iervolino revealed in an official statement. “We are also proud to have a legend like Mike Tyson in our cast, who will certainly help make ‘Bunny-Man’ even more special.”

However, Tyson’s role in the movie is yet to be revealed. Moreover, the film also boasts a diverse international cast whose details are currently kept under wraps.

The Baddest Movie Star on the Planet

‘Iron’ Mike is no stranger to the big screen. An acting career that started with a cameo in Black and White (1999) saw the champ become a memorable part of films like Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles and Rocky Balboa, to name a few. He also made a name for himself internationally with his role as Frank, a villainous property developer, in Ip Man 3.

However, the Hangover films undoubtedly had a major hand in reviving his once-declining popularity. Tyson once stated that he was unsure about the role when he was offered the same. “Somebody had told me something about a movie, but I wasn’t coherent as to what he was talking about. They made it sound like it was low-budget, not a serious movie,” Tyson said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

We can say that it is a good thing that Tyson accepted that role, as the Hangover films would have been incomplete without his presence.
