Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2 DAZN PPV Price Revealed

We are just a little over a month out from the highly anticipated rematch for the unified and lineal heavyweight crown between the champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs)  & Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). Earlier in the week, DAZN got a jump start on the event’s marketing by making it available to purchase on their platform for $39.99 in the U.S. (£24.99 in the UK).

The price point is the topic of discussion here as Turki Alalshikh has publicly been against the eye-gauging PPV prices of the past and said over the summer that his events would be at the $19.99 price point here in the U.S.

In an interview with TalkSport, Alshikh said, “You mention the pay-per-view; I think this is my next big fight, and I want your advice also,” Turki told on Talk Sport’s Jordan and White show. “I dream of a pay-per-view with a good price to make the fans happy and subscribe and get them to watch it legally. Usually, when I see a high pay-per-view, a lot of people go and watch the fight illegally, and this is not healthy for boxing and the platform. What I will try to push is to have our Riyadh Season shows at less than £20 in England and less than $20 around the world. I would prefer to have one million fans subscribe and buy the pay-per-view for £20 than less than less than 500,000 [fans paying £40].”

That began with Daniel Dubois vs. Anthony Joshua in September, and the idea was to put pressure on the other promotional companies to lower the price of their PPV events. Now, with this fight being $39.99, it means he has backtracked on his comments, and although it’s still half of what it traditionally costs any other time, how confident are fans of the sport that it won’t go right back up to the status quo within the next 12 months?

The shine is beginning to wear off a bit on the Saudi takeover, and it’s looking more like business as usual, which is something those who have been involved with the sport for years were telling those praising the Saudi involvement in boxing. When you look at the Usyk-Fury 2 fight card, it doesn’t scream as a premium or “stacked” event like the early days of Riyadh Season. This will be something to watch closely as we move into the new year.

For now, Usyk-Fury 2 will be another important heavyweight title fight in its rich history. The result can lead to various different lanes being created for either fighter in 2025. Will we see another classic like their first fight in May, or will Fury regain the top spot in the division? December 21 can’t come soon enough.
