The not-so-subtle feud between promoters Dana White and Eddie Hearn has taken a rather surprising turn, with Misfits offering the duo a rather fat deal to fight it out inside the ring. And if the fight were to happen, Paddy Pimblett is rather sure about who he’d pick as the winner.

Speaking to All Out Fighting, Pimblett didn’t hesitate to pick Hearn as the winner of that potential fight.

“I think he would, personally, yeah. I think he would, but people say all this and that, but they’re never going to fight, so it’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. As if Dana White’s going to have a fight with Eddie Hearn. It’s like the daftest thing I’ve ever heard,” he said.

The deal has become one of the strangest side stories in boxing. Misfits co-president Kalle Sauerland publicly offered the two promoters a $20 million winner-takes-all purse, with the bout envisioned as six two-minute rounds on a future Misfits card. According to Sauerland, Hearn actually contacted him months ago about making the fight, rather than Misfits simply approaching him out of nowhere. Earlier in the year, the Matchroom boss had also confirmed that Misfits had made him an offer and said the prospect of fighting White had genuinely excited him.

The important caveat is that White has not agreed to the $20 million Misfits proposal. In fact, he has repeatedly dismissed the whole idea as ridiculous.

Pimblett initially backed White, not Hearn. When asked about the potential fight earlier this year, he said that although Hearn has the reach advantage, Dana is his boss and he was backing him to “spark him out.” But his latest comments have taken a different tone, calling the fight idea “the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard” and arguing that their feud has become an unnecessary sideshow to Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua.

“It’s just stupid. It’s just very childish, isn’t it? But they’re going to keep going back and forth, so we need to get used to it,” he said.

“They Got What They Were Looking For”

White, however, doesn’t exactly share Hearn’s excitement about the fight. In fact, when he was recently asked, his expression was all it took to say what he thought.

“I know. They put it out there,” White said with a rather disgusted look on his face. “They’re like, ‘we just want to get a response from him.’ Sounds like they got what they were looking for.”
