Ryan Garcia & Devin Haney Star In New Fatal Fury Trailer Ahead of Friday’s Event

New York, Times Square: The official boxing trailer for Ring Magazine’s New York City fight card ‘FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves’ has been officially launched today ahead of the ground-breaking first-ever major boxing event to be staged in Times Square on Friday May 2.

In a bold tribute to one of the world’s most iconic locations, this new cinematic film transforms the vibrant billboards of Times Square and New York’s electric skyline into a high-octane animated battleground in the build up to the much-anticipated Friday fight night featuring Ryan Garcia‘s return to the ring against Rolly Romero, along with Devin Haney taking on Jose Ramirez, and Teofimo Lopez v Arnold Barboza.

Conceived and developed by the Emmy-nominated BigTime Creative Shop, produced by Truffle Films, and directed by WATTS, the film, which also features Oscar De La Hoya, opens with Garcia the face of a bold underwear campaign as ‘The King’. His billboard persona springs to life, locking eyes with Haney, who stands confidently portraying his own glossy ad. A fiery arcade-style character akin to those that feature in the Fatal Fury video game interrupts the intense exchange, challenging them to return to the ring to settle their differences.

What follows is a hyper-stylized visual journey, with the fighters leaping between billboards and each ad transforming them into exaggerated versions of its theme as the tension escalates, from glossy perfume commercials and cartoon cereal box animations to shampoo ads dripping with glamour.

With Garcia and Haney finally ready to clash in the glow of the Times Square ring, their upcoming opponents Rolando Romero and Jose Ramirez suddenly gatecrash the affair and declare their intentions to scupper any prospective rematch when they do battle with each of them on May 2.

Shot across New York and Mexico City, the film is a visually explosive celebration of location, character and culture, blending sport, gaming, and advertising into a cinematic homage to a globally renowned landmark ahead of what will be an historic evening in Times Square.
