With less than three weeks before the fight between Keith Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs) & Tim Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs), Premier Boxing Champions put together a live stream hosted by Shawn Porter. Thurman and Tszyu were on a live Q&A chat with the fans who were tuned in.
There was a moment when Thurman told Tszyu, “They picked some nice fights for you. Them dudes ain’t hungry like me bro!” Tszyu seemed surprised by Thurman’s comments and said, “Hungry? You’ve been on f%cking vacation for five years. Hungry? What are you talking about man!” The rest of the chat was entertaining as both fighters tried their best to get under each other’s skin. It’s hard to beat Thurman at that game, but Tszyu certainly had his moments like the one mentioned earlier.
Although the promotion has lacked the shoulder programming and muscle Showtime provided in years past, this seems to be the start of the promotion that will see PBC have its inaugural event on Amazon Prime. The March 30 card will stream live on Amazon PPV and takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
The WBO junior middleweight champion Tszyu has been busy lately as he was part of the fan fest that led into the National Rugby League season opener. It’s a massive sport in Australia, and with the NRL Telstra Premiership season making its U.S. debut in Las Vegas this past weekend, it only made sense for Tszyu to show up and support his fellow countrymen.
On the other hand, Thurman has been posting videos on social media, keeping his fans updated on his training camp while also showing he still has plenty in the tank at 35. Thurman is one of the best at talking smack leading up to a fight, so this is his moment to do that as they wind down his training camp.
