Tommy Fury Wants To Let His ‘Fists Do the Talking’ Against Eddie Hall

In a true British recreation of the biblical David and Goliath, Tommy Fury (11-0, 4 KOs) is gearing up to face former World’s Strongest Man, Eddie Hall (0-1), on June 13 live on DAZN PPV.  But is the prospect of facing a far bigger opponent daunting to Fury? Let’s just say he’s waiting to answer, not with words but with action.

In conversation with the W.A.D.E Concept, Fury was sure to remind everyone that he considers boxing a business and is wary of letting the pressure get to his head.

“I don’t carry any emotion into the ring. I never have. Even with Jake and KSI, I’ve never carried any emotion. And I just let my fists do the talking,” he said. “Yeah, the guy’s big, he’s strong, he’s heavy, but if that was the case, all strong men would be world champions, and it’s not the case, you know.”

The Fury vs. Hall fight largely stemmed from a feud between Hall and Tommy’s father, John Fury. Hall has said he originally had heated exchanges with John and even wanted to test himself against the Fury family in some form of combat, while the older Fury later revealed that a fiery phone call between the two helped spark discussions about a fight. Since John is 61 and no longer an active boxer, Tommy stepped in to represent the family, leading Misfits Boxing to turn the rivalry into the “Beauty vs. The Beast” crossover event.

With Hall currently outweighing Fury by over 100 pounds, the former Love Island star admitted he will be playing a smart, necessarily cautious game against his gargantuan opponent.

“Yeah, of course, he’s got power, but everyone at my weight has got power. If anyone who is 13-and-a-half stone hits you on the chin, you’re going over. So, I’ve just got to mind Ps and Qs, keep sharp, and get a job done,” he said.

“Odd Circus Fight”

Hall, on the other hand, wants his opponent to work on becoming a world champion; in fact, the former strongman was even confused as to why he (Fury) would pick him as an opponent.

“Tommy is after a world title, from what I gather, but he’s got to work on that,” he said while talking to DAZN. “You just can’t take the odd circus fight, like with me. If he wants to go down the professional route, it has to be through the right channels. Tommy has got every chance of doing that, for sure.”
