All week, the talk of the wrestling world was WWE Survivor Series WarGames, with the emphasis being on The Original Bloodline, led by Roman Reigns, facing The New Bloodline, led by Solo Sikoa. Although the match had some great spots, the ending lacked depth, and although the post-match was dragged a bit, everyone in the arena was waiting for something to happen, and then it didn’t. This led to wrestling fans enjoying the main event but also feeling as though they were left hanging, given the buildup.
The Beginning Served As The Appetizer Until A Certain Samoan Werewolf Appeared
While there wasn’t much to the ring entrances of each team before the start of the match, one thing that did stand out was Jey Uso coming out last and being the one to start the match. Given the amount of star power shared by Reigns and CM Punk, you would think one of them would start the match, but later on, we found out why they worked it that way, and it turned out to be brilliantly done.
Once the match began, and the ones in the ring were Jey & Jimmy, one of the Tongas, and Bronson Reed, this was when Solo decided to call on Jacob Fatu to come into the match. When he did, oh boy, was the arena hyped to see him perform. The energy was undeniable and he laid everyone out once he entered the ring as he was booked strongly throughout the match. The WWE Execs must’ve had dollar signs for eyes, as there is no question Jacob Fatu is their next big star.
There was a spot in the match when CM Punk slammed Jacob’s face into a toolbox and he “no sold” it while coming right back at Punk and laying him out. That spot received a big ovation from the crowd, along with Bronson Reed’s missed splash from the top of the cage and Jimmy Uso’s splash from the top of the cage on Jacob Fatu. Although the match had some slow moments, these spots made up for them, and it was exactly what we all needed to see from these ten men.
The Faces Shined Bright, But The Long Outro Was Misleading

Towards the end of the match, Solo Sikoa was on his own against the team led by Reigns. Even then, with everything that has occurred between the two, Reigns allowed Solo an opportunity to acknowledge him, but he chose not to. Solo went out on his shield and was pinned, but Team OG Bloodline winning doesn’t help move the story along. This should have been Solo and the New Bloodline’s victory so things could get even more complicated between Reigns and his family, including the Final Boss (The Rock). With the faces winning, it cuts the legs of Solo and his crew, leaving the WWE trying to figure out how they can take this story to the next level, given that Solo is no longer in a position of strength.

Then there was the post-match outro. Like a Marvel movie where you stay through the credits to see the bonus scene, the crowd in attendance was waiting for something to happen. Would Sami Zayn turn heel, or would CM Punk attack Reigns, or would he attack Punk? All those thoughts were running through everyone’s mind, and the WWE was leading the viewers on by making the outro longer than normal, but all we got was some handshakes and photo ops. That felt like a missed opportunity to plant a seed for Saturday Night’s Main Event later this month or the RAW premiere of Netflix in January. I guess there is still time to do that, but the WWE will have to rely on their weekly shows to get that off, so hopefully, they will do it.
Although there were big expectations for the main event, it did deliver throughout the with great storytelling. However, the match ended with no big surprises at a moment when it felt appropriate to shock the crowd in some way or fashion. Survivor Series War Games wasn’t the best PLE the WWE has had this year but it had enough bright spots to make it a solid event heading into Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14.
