In a few hours, Amanda Serrano (49-4-1, 32 KOs) will defend her Ring Magazine, WBA and WBO featherweight titles against Argentina’s Lucrecia Manzur (14-4, 7 KOs). The fight marks two potential milestones in Serrano’s career, an opportunity to break a record in women’s professional boxing and a new chapter in boxing broadcast history.

Talking to BBC Sport, she initially spoke about her plans to break Christy Martin’s record.

“That’s what gets me up in the morning, working hard, training hard. I always set myself little goals. Because if your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough,” he said. “To tie was an honour, but now we have to break it. I don’t like being tied.”

The fight carries considerable historical weight for Serrano. She enters the fight tied with Martin for the women’s professional record of 32 knockouts, meaning a stoppage would give her the outright record. The bout is also scheduled for 12 two-minute rounds, adding another layer of significance as women’s boxing continues to push for greater parity in championship-fight formats.

Serrano vs Manzur is also shaping up to be one of the more unusual boxing broadcasts of 2026, not simply because Serrano is once again defending her world titles, but because fans will be able to watch the championship fight live on TikTok. The event, promoted by Most Valuable Promotions, marks a major experiment for the sport as a legitimate world-title fight moves away from the traditional pay-per-view and cable ecosystem and onto a platform built around short-form, mobile-first content.

From a broadcasting perspective, however, the most fascinating element may be the audience MVP is trying to reach. Rather than requiring viewers to purchase a traditional PPV or subscribe to a dedicated sports service, fans can simply open TikTok and tune in to the TikTok LIVE broadcast, potentially exposing Serrano and women’s boxing to an enormous audience of casual viewers who might never actively seek out a boxing event.

“This is the social media era. We’re in 2026. A lot of these young generations are constantly on the phone. They’re always scrolling, scrolling and scrolling. So what better place?” she said. “I do TikTok Lives every day at seven o’clock. I’ve grown a big fan base there, I call them my TikTok family,” she says. I do giveaways, give tickets away for my fights. They came to California, they came to El Paso. You do battles, you meet so many people. I’m excited to make history.”

“I Guarantee The 50th Win”

While Serrano is certain of her victory in the fight, she also admitted that her upcoming opponent is going to be a tough fighter to break.

“I guarantee the 50th win is coming, but we’re working on the 33rd knockout. Manzur is a very tough fighter. She’s a Latina like me; she’s Argentinian; she’s going to come forward,” he said. “I know she’s going to try to come and beat my head off, but she’s never fought someone like me. We’ve been working really hard for the knockout, and I believe it can come.”
