Add FightsATW on GoogleLucha Libre AAA on FOX was prerecorded this week, following last week’s episode from the Coliseo Centenario in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, as TripleMania approaches with less than a month to go before the two-night affair. Last week, AAA on FOX faded to black as Penta accepted a challenge from Bronco Nima after Los Perros del Mal pressed the former IC champion to rejoin the group for which he was once a member.
Daga’s offer turned into a stipulation between Penta and Bronco: if the LPdM upstart defeated the famous luchador, he would be forced to join the group. However, if Penta pulled it off, then he would be ‘allowed’ to go his own way.
Penta Gets His Backup… BROS OVER DOGS
Penta and Bronco Nima faced off in ‘singles action,’ though the outside distraction was a definitive theme throughout the match. The big man in Bronco Nima utilized his size while Penta controlled the action with his unique blend of lucha. Penta was able to pick up the win and avoid being forced into a ‘Solo/Bloodline’ situation, but that was not good enough for the faction.
Los Perros del Mal jumped Penta in the post-fight, but that brought out Dragon Lee and Penta’s bro Rey Fenix for the save. Penta stood tall with his fellow faces, and the segment demonstrated that Penta has the backup should he face off with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline at the end of the Lucha tourney to crown a heavyweight title #1 contender.
That said, it is very interesting that 3 of the 4 semifinalists find themselves aligned against Los Perros del Mal, and despite the real-life brotherhood that bonds Penta and Fenix, ambitions could result in an implosion from the three masked men currently operating as allies.
Omos Suspended
Omos VS Galeno—Vacant AAA Latin American Title Qualifier
In a match that was supposed to feature Damian Priest, he could not make it in time for the TV taping, so AAA GM Rey Mysterio Jr. decided to call an audible for the vacant AAA Latin American championship qualifier. The winner of the match will be booked into the fatal four-way at TripleMania to crown the champion meant to replace the injured Vikingo.
The match disappointingly ended in a no-contest, and when GM Rey jumped into the ring, he was beaten down by Omos for his efforts—resulting in a suspension for the Nigerian giant. El Grande Americano came out to make the save, but the fallout will have to wait until next week.
Los Americanos VS Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro VS Dave The Clown & Murder Clown: Triple Threat Tag Team Match
Los Americanos won their triple threat tag team match against Wilde/Del Toro and Dave The Clown and Murder The Clown. This is another successful showing from Los Americanos in a string of good showings. This win could put them in line to challenge current AAA tag team champions War Raiders.
