Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn Fight Results: Garcia Stops Benn, Calls Out Teofimo Lopez

Ryan Garcia gave the fans who packed the T-Mobile Arena what they were looking for: a second-round stoppage victory over Conor Benn (25-2, 14 KOs) and retained his WBC welterweight title. Benn was never really in the fight, as Garcia’s blistering speed was too much for him to handle.

After the fight, Garcia thanked Benn for the opportunity and shared comments about being a proud Mexican-American. Garcia called out Teofimo Lopez, but when Lopez tried to enter the ring, he was held back by security.

In the opening round, Garcia wasted no time unleashing his powerful left hook. Benn, as advertised, was aggressive on the front foot, throwing combinations of his own. In two instances, Garcia landed a three-punch combination that made Benn stagger back, but it was more of a balance issue than being hurt.

In the second round, Garcia stepped back and landed a hard right hand, sending Benn to the canvas. Benn got up, beat the ten count, but was then met by a flurry of Garcia’s left and right hooks. It became too much for Benn, and referee Thomas Taylor stepped in and stopped the fight.

Garcia scores the highlight-reel second-round stoppage, but more importantly, has made himself into a big star after tonight’s performance.
