His opponent will be 46-year-old Mariusz Wach, and on Thursday, they both stepped on the scale to make it official. Although every Fury fight is a spectacle, this one won’t be available to watch on any streaming platform.
Fury (35-2-1, 24 KOs) came in at 265 pounds, the lightest he’s been since his first fight with Oleksandr Usyk in May 2024. On that night, Fury lost to Usyk by split decision, but it was the closest the Ukrainian came to picking up his first career loss.
Fury’s opponent, Wach (39-13, 20 KOs), came in at 291.4 pounds, the heaviest he’s been since his October 2023 unanimous decision victory over Michal Boloz. Wach is also a few months removed from a March unanimous decision loss to Viktor Vykhryst.
This fight looks to be a glorified sparring session, as Wach doesn’t pose a real threat to Fury. It also gives Fury work to avoid rust before potentially facing Anthony Joshua later this year. The oddsmakers have Fury as a -10000 favorite, so the expectation is that he will come away with the victory one way or the other.
