Why Won’t a Ferrari Ferry Floyd Mayweather?

With a net worth of $1.2 billion, one might think that the ‘Crown Prince of Boxing’ Floyd Mayweather Jr., could easily purchase anything he wanted. As an avid lover of four-wheeled extravagances, Mayweather boasts of a horde of mean machines in his arsenal. However, the boxing superstar has had difficulty getting his hands on a Ferrari.

While Ferraris dot every street of Monaco, Mayweather’s diverse garage is yet to see the prancing horse enshrined in yellow. The brand is known for vetting potential buyers to ensure they qualify to purchase specific models, regardless of their financial standing.

Mayweather, on the other hand, is one of the few A-list celebrities who the Italian automobile giant has blacklisted. Ferrari requires customers to prove their loyalty to the brand by purchasing various lower-tier models before even considering stepping into a dealership for one of their sought-after models.

The brand also requires owners not to sell the car within a year of purchase. Mayweather, notorious for buying and selling vehicles at whim, soon earned the brand’s wrath. Ferrari has also banned other notable celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber from owning their models. While he might have enough money to own over a hundred Ferrari 488 Spiders, it sure looks like Mayweather will have a hard time becoming a part of the brand’s ‘Scuderia.’

Not the only automobile giant that blacklisted Floyd Mayweather

‘Money’ Mayweather certainly loves to flaunt his supercars, especially his imposing fleet of Bugattis.  But this has not stopped the French automobile behemoth from beefing with the champ. Bugatti has currently banned him from flaunting its models. Mayweather sold one of his cars for a much higher price than he bought it for. An action that did not go well with the brand and led to them vetoing him for life.

The champ, however, proved that he could one-up them in this ‘game of pettiness.’ He went on to extend support to Bugatti’s competitor, Lamborghini, and is often seen driving around and taking pictures in his Lamborghinis.
