One of the worst-kept secrets in boxing has been officially announced by Dana White, who stated that Ring Magazine and WBO junior lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) is the latest fighter to sign with Zuffa Boxing.

Over the past few months, Stevenson has deflected many questions about whether he was signing with Zuffa, leading many to believe he would eventually sign with them. Coming off his dominant victory over Teofimo Lopez in January, many wondered what Stevenson would do next. Now we know, and the only question that remains is who he will fight next, given the public spats White has had with the other promoters. Guess we’ll soon find out. For now, Stevenson is excited about this new opportunity with Zuffa Boxing.

“Line them up, one by one, and I’ll beat all the top guys once I get them in front of me,” said Stevenson. “With Zuffa Boxing, I’m going to go after the biggest fights in the sport and I will become the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world.”

White is just as excited because the signing of Stevenson adds another world champion to his growing roster of fighters.

“Shakur is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world,” said UFC President and CEO Dana White. “He’s 29 years old, undefeated and already a four-division world champion. This is a massive signing for Zuffa Boxing, and I’m looking forward to promoting this next fight.”

According to the Zuffa Boxing press release, Stevenson’s next fight will be announced in the coming weeks.
