Add FightsATW on GoogleAlthough Tommy Fury was outweighed by more than 100 pounds against Eddie Hall, Fury was able to squeeze out a majority decision in Manchester, which was streamed live on DAZN PPV.
The judges saw this one 59-56, 58-56, and 57-57 for Fury, who earned his first Misfits victory. After the fight, Fury dedicated his win to his newborn baby. Regarding his next fight, Fury said he wants to take the rest of the summer off and spend time with his newborn son.
In the first round, Fury moved around a lot. He was unsure what Hall’s power would look like, so he aimed to tire him out. Hall chased Fury but landed a clean right hand on him when Fury was against the ropes. Fury used a lot of movement again in the second round, this time incorporating a good left jab. Hall followed him around again but did land two right hands in the round.
Fury had a much better round in the third as he began using more combinations to Hall’s body and head. He was still moving around but more effective with his offense. The fourth round was more of the same for Fury, and in the fifth, Hall’s stamina was on empty as Fury continued to box smartly and land huge 1-2 combinations. Although Fury was having success, he remained cautious.
In the last round, both fighters emptied the tank and even caught Fury with seconds left in the fight. Fury was able to fight smarter than Hall, which can be attributed to his experience level compared to Hall’s.
